the effects of sweetner on diy liquid.
submitted over 10 years ago by beerawk

So I made a quick 10 ml bottle to try out a new flavor but it feels a little flat. I made some sweetner with 3 grams of organic stevia and 9 ml of pg. Most people are saying add a few drops and I have been and nothing is changing. What gives? 10 ml shouldn't require that much but 5 drops is having no effect at all.

Don't even bother with sweetener it mutes flavour quickly but worst of all it creates a very black gunk on coils killing them very rapidly.. Have you got malic acid? Try that instead to make flavour pop

TFA Sour is the same thing as Malic Acid (with PG). Pick up some EM and Vanillin as well

Malic acid works well with fruits, but not all flavors. Just fyi it could ruin some flavors.

Eh, surcalose is a great additive. Sweeteners really are necessary for some mixes.

Sucralose has the same "coil gunking" effect though. If you vape in an RDA - it's not that big of a deal but for the tank vapers, you'll find yourself changing coils every 3-4 tank refills (15-20ml).

I thought it was only Ethyl Maltol that mutes flavors? Sucralose is ok? Gunks yes, but mutes?
