Yogurt - Mountain Oak Vapors runs GC/MS on FW Yogurt which shows DA & PA
submitted over 10 years ago by CatHouseVapor

Has anyone heard this or read about it; not sure if this is true: http://imgur.com/w6b2WGf

This is being shared on FB groups as legitimate however, just checking to see if anyone here has read about it or can verify more?

Mountain Oak Vapors exchanges emails with FW rep. about Yogurt NOT containing DA nor PA yet finds it in the GC/MS analysis.

I don't know, I'm kind of on the fence on this one. On one hand, yes it's possible that FW doesn't realize or doesn't care about their ingredients. On the other hand, I noticed that the lab doing the testing was Enthalpy (who don't necessarily have the greatest reputation for being accurate - ask Vapor Chef about that one).

At the end of the day, I really don't use much FW product (especially yoghurt) so it doesn't affect me as much as other people that do.

Exactly. Which is why I never gave that much credence to the 'study' that Dr F did nor the results.

I don't think FW is trying to pull anything. If they were, they wouldn't have published that chart with the Acetoin listings and A/P. What would be the point of telling everyone about the high levels of those in some of their ingredients yet plotting a massive deception about friggin' Yogurt?

Absolutely, though I do also wonder if by some weird chemical reaction and off-chance the ingredients used in the yoghurt flavoring have sort of created their own naturally occurring DA, kind of like how beer develops DA naturally through the fermentation process, but FW are just completely oblivious to it because they did not realize it would happen.

Would like to read more about the trustworthiness of Enthalpy.

FW says that about all their flavorings usually. If I remember correctly their butterscotch and cinnamon roll tested like that as well. Sucks I just bought a bottle of FW's Yogurt from CHV.

Well personally, I'm not concerned and that's not why I brought this here. I just wanted to learn more about it and, if true, let everyone know.

I still believe Yogurt has a lot potential.

Just got some yogurt as well from them. Oh well, I'm not concerned about diketones for my personal use, but I guess this is good to know

Right? You know what's horrible for your health? Deep frying foods and chasing it with cheap beer.

Guess what I'm okay with.

Hell, I was "okay" with smoking for fifteen years - the odd tank of delicious white peach greek yogurt isn't going to break my heart valves.

Hey if vapers were actually getting popcorn lung instead of their being a slight possibility that it could happen id have a different opinion about diketones. But as it stands now....... Bring on the diacetyl baby.
