tequila flavor?

i have seen rum and bourbon before, i have bourbons actually... but not tequila. do any of the cactus i see mimic agave? any thoughts on creating a tequila, even subtly for a margarita juice.

i see FW has a margarita after some searching but have not been impressed with FW so far.

If you want to try it, begin by adding 8% FW Tequila to this recipe. Be prepared to add even more to get clear tequila flavor. I did NOT like it here, but if you like FW Tequila, you will love it with Kaktus. If you want a boozier flavor without using FW Tequila, I highly recommend using extra FA Brandy. It becomes less of a margarita flavor, but it's so delicious, it doesn't matter!

hmmm, no manufacturer information at all. i think what i wanted to avoid with FW margarita is their flavoring other than the tequila [lime etc] and have my own blend.

Amazon sells a PG based tequila flavor, too -- no info tho.

I found that TFA Citrus Punch with some sour tasted like a margarita on the rocks in a way. Maybe adding some saline could boost this flavor factor.

Inawara cactus tastes nothing like tequila or agave. Its closer to raw nopales.

Silver Cloud makes a tequila flavor as well as a margarita flavor - haven't yet tried either.

Amoretti also makes a Margarita flavor, which I do have. I've got a couple of tester blends steeping right now. I can't say what it tastes like yet but the aroma out of the bottle is tequila-y.
