Both of them are awesome flavors, each with its own benefits. Lots of people use vanilla custard as a base, me included, for many custard recipes. That said, I would never use it in my vanilla coke recipe. That's where vanilla swirl comes in. Great for fruit blends and pretty much anything thing else that needs vanilla, mellowness, or something to fill out creamy flavors.

What percentages do you use vanilla swirl at? Also have you tried the DX version of bavarian cream? I've been trying out making creamy diketone free juices for a while but I feel I'm using way too low percentages. ~4% Bav and ~3% Van Swirl along side my fruit base.
Around 5% usually, sometimes 3. Read up on diketones, its really not shit you want in your lungs.
As far as dx bavarian cream, its used in a a lot of recipes. I like it but I really can't offer much information as to how and when to use it. I have never seen it above 6% tho.
CAP vanilla custard is more of a finished flavor, can be used on its own or as a replacement for multiple single flavors. Vanilla Swirl is an additive flavor, not meant to be used on its own, but much more versatile that CAP VC since it can be mixed with creams to create a custard, yogurts to make... yogurt, fruits to add sweetness, bold flavors to help mellow them out, and tobaccos to soften them.
Also Vanilla Swirl is EtOH based and CAP VC is PG based.
edit: if you're looking for a custard flavor from TFA, I'd suggest Bavarian Cream, Sweet Cream, Vanilla Swirl, Caramel Candy, and of course their standard Custard. With this you can make a fairly complex tasting custard that should please anyone who doubts your ability to DIY.
I have all besides vanilla swirl and caramel candy, which I believe both caramels from tfa contain corn syrup, which is a huge no no for anyone's respitory tract, might use a combinations of vanillas, cookie bases and others to make an oreo cheesecake.
Pretty sure caramel candy doesn't contain corn syrup. Perhaps you're thinking of graham cracker.

edit2: Worst it contains is caramel color. And considering we use LA flavors, I'm not too afraid of colorings.
I don't use la flavorings, but I vape acetoin, some other dike-alikes, but any type of heated compound is not appreciated by the lungs anyway. Looked at silly rabbit and lucky leaprecon by tfa, might have to try those out, as well as chicken and waffles. Thanks for the research I'm too lazy to do myself.
