So first of all, I'm not obsessed with corn. I recently tried a juice still in R&D from Teleos, and it tasted exactly like Kellog's Corn Pops. I'm not a huge Pops fan, but I could totally vape that all day. But they might not actually release the juice, it was just an experiment.
I tried to figure out where the corn flavoring used in the juice came from. FA makes a corn flavor, but my attempt to find a US distributor of it came up with zilch. I was going to order some from overseas, but now I don't know that's it. I don't know they would have imported it just for this flavor, but maybe they got it as a sample while ordering in bulk.
So my question is, what flavors taste like a sweet corn? Or maybe someone has a corn pops recipe they want to share with me? :D
Or am I gonna just have to suck it up and make an overseas order tomorrow?
I would bet that their 'corn pops' juice contains a decent percentage of AP (acetyl pyrazine). It's an additive that can bring a nutty/bready flavour to a mix, and using lots of it (anything over .5% imo) adds somewhat of a corn chip flavour.
Yeah, I use AP pretty frequently, even up to 1.5% occasionally. That's not what I'm looking for. It's not the "chip", just the corn, that I want. Tho I'm still convinced I could make a decent Doritos type flavor with AP, if I liked Doritos lol
So you ever get around to watching RoboCop?
From my limited experience with AP in my cereals, I figured pairing it with a sweet cream component (vanilla bean ice cream?) Would get you kinda close to frosted flakes. I could be way off. Best of luck, I really haven't heard of much for corn flavours.
You could use my dogs feet for it. They smell like corn chips.
this is actually pretty interesting, sorry I cant help, but would you mind sharing how you got your hands on an experimental flavor?
I know this thread is old.... But health cabin sweet corn. :) it's amazing and I know it's exactly what you're looking for.
