Am I the only one who doesn't dig FA?

I'm by no means a proper mixer but all recipes that I've tried with FA haven't been appealing to my taste buds. They seem to universally loved and I'm lacking validation ha. Am I the only one?

Ps: the Recipes were widely renowned.

As main notes go, FA is hit or miss. INW is much better. But as for supporting notes and bases, I haven't found anything better than FA. You can build and layer so much with them. I generally like to use a INW as a main top note, FA / CAP to build a base and support, and TFA / FW to further sharpen and accentuate. But taste is 100% subjective, so if you don't like FA flavors, then you just don't like them and there aint nothin wrong with that.

Can you give an example recipe that is 'built' in that way, indicating what is what? Is that like a universal creation formula?

I'm speaking of the "Top note" + "base/support" + "supporting notes" thing.

I only seem to like 'complex' juices but am having a very hard time creating anything I really love. If this is a generally good way to go about it, that would help me immensely.

That's probably an idiotic request, but at this point I'm getting a little frustrated.

Unfortunately there's no magic formula, just cause some thing's will not work or ever work with other things. I've just found this sort of way of mixing has began to pop up more often in my mixing style. An example though of this formula is my Rhodonite recipe. INW rasp as the center of attention (main note), FA too build the macaroon (base), and TFA to help sharpen the whole recipe. This has become a kind of pattern in my recent mixes lately, which yielded good results. But when you hit a wall and can't think of how to make something work you have to abandon the pattern

Also, complex juices take a lot of trial and error. I can go through a gallon of vg a week and still not have the profile I want. Just keep mixing and you'll get there. Just gotta know your flavors more intimately.

Depends on the flavour :) But generally I like them. Are are talking about HIC's recipes? I'm not a massive fan either but tastes is subjective and it all depends on how you vape them.

They have some amazing flavours. Off the top of my head: cookie, lemon, cinnamon, apple fuji, mango, strawberry, bergamot, marzipan, hazelnut

I agree I really have been liking their flavors. I tend to add some TFA/FLV to add other notes/layers, but I quite enjoy FA flavors on their own too.

Some of their flavors are crap/some are great. They really hit on some realistic flavors as opposed to candyish ones. Another reason they're praised is how concentrated they are and only take about 1/3 to 1/4 of the amount that brands like TFA/FW require.

I like the flavorings themselves but the way most people use them doesn't sit well on palette either. They remind me of not so yummy hookah/shisha flavors.

I really like most of their flavors. While I agree their flavors are stronger than other brands, I find HICS recipes to be under flavored most of the time for my tastes. I always see 0.5 to 2% used but I routinely use a lot of them in the 3 to 6 range.

Some I love (Fuji Apple, best flavor in existence) others I hate (FA Pineapple tastes like some foul critter ate a rotten pineapple and barfed it up). I have noticed that mixes made up exclusively or mostly of FA fruit flavors result in a "dry" vape. A little TFA Marshmallow will fixes that right up, though.

I was kind of disappointed by Vienna cream. It's the only custard flavor that I don't like on its own (I've tried TFA and CAP vanilla custard, TFA vanilla swirl, TFA Bavarian cream (both normal and DX))

Does anyone have a nice pairing for FA Vienna Cream they can recommend me?

The only other FA flavor I have is passion fruit. That one is pretty nice.

I always tend to use Vienna Cream as an additive rather than a main ingredient. Such as a strawberry custardish cream I've been using as my adv recently.

5% Sweet Strawberry (CAP)
4% Vanilla Custard v1 (CAP)
2% Bavarian Cream (TFA)
1% Vienna Cream (FA)
1% Fresh Cream (FA)

Fresh Cream is another one you definitely can't enjoy by itself and smells like milk somebody left sitting out for a day.

Awesome man, thanks! I have all these flavors except fresh cream. I'll try it on my next mixing session with TFA sweet cream (which pretty much spot-on fits your description of FA fresh cream).

Its weird, I was really in to FA when I first got in to it but over time I'm starting to like them less and less. All of HIC's recipes (for example) taste harsh and dry to me? I guess thats how I'd describe it.

I can definitely use some FA in recipes, but full FA mixes just don't taste great to me for some reason.

I find this as well. If I make a mix that is predominantly FA, it's very harsh and dry. Also, lemon Sicily I absolutely love, but almost can't stand to vape it for this reason. I enjoy several of their favors, but have stopped using them for the most part.

I don't not like them as a flavor, I just wish wizard labs sold them. I thought it was hilarious that once I got over 50 different flavors from TFA, everyone on /r/diy_ejuice basically dropped TFA and went on to FA.

I actually really enjoy Fa flavors so far. I did do some digging through HIC's recipes and started really basic.

After their Vienna, caramel, meringue, and custard I decided to go into them a lot more. I LOVE their cookie, bilberry and fresh cream too.

So enough about the raving, what I did notice though was HIC's recipes were a little weak to me. I increased a few %'s and tweaked them and found my new favorite ADV's.

My second observation had to do with Ohms and heat. I feel I'm new to rebuildables and tweaking certain aspects of it. I was vaping dual coils at .3 ohms and had a problem with gunking(whether that be sweeteners, high vg, whatever or taste from peppery nicotine I failed to protect) so I'm running a dual coil setup at 1.0 ohm and a lot of softer flavors are really standing out. They are well rounded and very satisfying.

I just started mixing with FA as I started out with only TFA. I've found their flavors to actually be quite tasty! Namely mandarin, cookie, fuji, lemon sicily, forest fruit, bergamot, meringue, and yogurt.

So I am alone! LOL.

What's a good recipe highlighting their dessert based flavors? I have most of them. Preferably combined with Tfa and/or Cap. After looking back, most of the recipes I tried contained meringue which i got from a random vendor because it was out of stock everywhere I looked at the time. Every single one gave a harsh throat hit.
