FA Custard is a true Italian-style custard, not the American-style pudding custard you're familiar with in Capella or TFA's versions.

It's less concentrated compared to other FA flavors, so you can start around 5-7%. Or, less depending on your mix. It's an excellent flavor, just maybe not what you're expecting.

FA custard is my favorite custard. That being said, it requires a 3-4 week steep for me. It goes well with fruits (kiwi, strawberry, etc) but also with dessert types (butterscotch, chocolate, etc) I use it in place of anything requiring Capella's custard as I cannot stand their custard. (neither version, regardless of steep time) In most instances, it makes a good replacement IMO. The lemon note is normal. I personally don't taste it but I've heard it has a slight lemon flavor by itself.

While it does a lemon smell to it, we find it is a wonderful alternative to the CAP Custard about everyone so raves. It's nice to blend with Vanilla Classic or you can blend it with (as HIC suggests) fruits, cream bases, etc.

I'm actually playing around with this and CAP VC v1 together just to see what kind of end result I can get.

Mind if I ask OP, how long did you steep your custard for? Genuinely curious. :)

I ask because I have just taken my first step in to mixing, and I have read that it can take FA custard 3-4 weeks (just as /r/Jtetsuki said).

My mix is; 70/30 pg/vg, FA custard 7.5%, FA caramel 5.5%, FA apricot 2%. It's starting to smell tasty after just 3 days in the cupboard and I can't wait.

DUDE, you are my hero for the day. I keep getting asked to make a custard but I haven't had one yet so I don't know what I'm looking for. Found this and now just have to order my meringue and I'm set.
