Cosmic Fog Nutz Clone (Improved Version)
submitted over 10 years ago by EnyawreklawMixologist

I'm about 80% complete on the Cosmic Fog Nutz clone. This clone will be SPOT ON. Right now it's pretty much there but I'm waiting for a couple more to steep to see which one I'll choose as the perfect one. The closest so far is this version, which I think is an improvement from the original.

  • CAP Sweet Strawberry - 3%
  • TFA Ripe Strawberry - 4%
  • FA Meringue - 1%
  • FA Vienna Cream - 2%
  • FA Almond - 2%
  • FA Caramel - 1.5%
  • CAP Vanilla Custard - 1%
  • INW Biscuit - 2%
  • MTS Wizard - 2 drops per 30ml
  • Mix at 60vg/40pg and no steep required

I was playing around with certain strawberry cream recipes and what I ended up finding was one of them tasted almost exactly like Cosmic Fog's NUTZ. Which is an almond strawberry flavor. So I decided to play around with that certain recipe to try and clone it. The problem with the original, in my opinion, is that the flavor is wayyy too astringent and sour. So the creams actually soften the flavor perfectly, and improve the flavor. You don't really get too much cream in this mix, or at all, just a nice strawberry almond buttery flavor. No steep is required and tastes amazing right after a shake. I'm still working on it to make it a 1:1 clone which I'm thinking is just the strawberries, the almond, caramel, and biscuit, but I decided to give you a, imo, better version of it. ENJOY FUCKERS!

Have you played with 2-3 flavoring FlavorWest recipes for Nutz? From what I know of the company and what I've read here, they seem to use a lot of FW and lean towards simple recipes. See this comment chain recently. This aligns with my own research and trials too. To what others said summarize:

  • Church is FW Banana Split ~12-15%
  • The Shocker is FW Strawberry Lemonade ~12%
  • Kryptonite is FW Watermelon + menthol ~12%

Given this trend you may want to apply Occam's Razor and experiment with FW Strawberry Shortcake and FW Toasted Almond at ~7% each. I've not tried it myself but I really don't think they're using FlavourArt or Inawera. Cosmic Fog is an extremely high-margin line.

EDIT: This thread got hit by Mr. Downvote. It's always hilarious in threads with less than 200 comments...like, you think you're going to bury the comments. Yeah, buddy...

Im maybe a little biased in that I helped crack the FW/Cosmic fog equivalency, but I entirely concur with Fizz. I'd be shocked if you weren't overthinking it, my money is on three FW flavours tops.

In my opinion, your best bet might be to look into FW's bulk purchase flavours - they offer a ton of flavours that aren't available in small containers, and it wouldn't surprise me at all to see a 'peanut butter & jam' flavour or similar tucked away deep into their catalouge.

Edit: now that I think of it though... im positive that Cosmic Fog's cola gummy has something more complicated going on.. I've tried FW's cola and their gummy, neither of them are in cola gummy. Nuts could be equally complicated.

Have you compared Church to FW Banana Split? I have both, and in my opinion, Church is NOT FW Banana Split. Church is a bit more complex. I really wish they were the same.

I do think you're right about Nutz being a rather simple mix, though.

Just tried this flavor for the first time today, thought I was picking up on some cappella vanilla custard. Just a small bit, but enough to taste familiar.

I don't really think it is as complicated as the recipe you posted above, but definitely more than a 1-2 flavor mix. Vendors are in the industry to make money, so a simpler recipe makes a lot more sense than one where there are many flavors at a fraction of a percent.

If you can come up with it, more power to ya. It's one of Fizz's line though, and one I -definitely- will have no problem paying for once it's released!

Yeah you're probably right, although I feel the strawberries in this flavor profile are spot on. It also smells exactly like it. Maybe it's CAP Sweet Strawberry and FW Toasted Almond, I'm def going to give it a try now. Thanks for the heads up, I never knew any of this. But also mix up this recipe and let me know what you think.

Edit: and I also see that most ejuice vendors that had come out in the beginings really only used simple flavors. They must've made fucking millions.

On the subject of kryptonite, also adding 2% FW cantaloupe makes the flavor a spot on duplicate.

i like how you utilize every brand, not only FA or only TFA. I feel like the best recipes have at least 2 brands in them lol

That actually sounds pretty good, i have never really vaped cosmic fog. Im starting my own line of juice here in a few weeks..been working really hard on my flavors and have gotten a TON of good feedback and people love my flavors. And i have been making juice for over a year now, so i have not really explored many other company flavors cause i just didnt wana spend the money. But i have all of those flavors except for .... bisquit. So i think im gonna check it out and see how it is.

/u/fizzmustard is probably correct, but hey - if this still tastes the same I'd say you did a damn fine job (again). Thanks for posting! I'll try this when I get some INW Biscuit in.

I feel you don't really need biscuit in this flavor, what it does is just butter everything up making it more soft on the edges. If you've ever vaped the orginal you'd find it really sharp, and that's the reason why I didn't like it so much.

Anything that can be subbed for INW biscuit? I have FA cookie? Anything alike? Haven't tried it.

You can use cookie at 0.5%-1%, just to add some body and crunch, but INW isn't really necessary it just adds some butter. The true flavor profiles are the strawberries, and the FA Almond.
