LA pistachio
submitted over 10 years ago by rocketjones

I was hoping to make a straight pistachio and mixed 10% in 90/10 vg/pg. Didn't quite turn out the way I thought it would. Anyone have good results with LA pistachio?

I really enjoy TFA pistachio as a standalone, haven't tried LA though. The TFA version is not too nutty and tastes a lot like pistachio jello pudding.

I'll second that! TFA Pistachio has brought me very close to what I would consider a premium tasting juice. After one day of steeping, my mix tastes like Watergate cake. Proudly my first ADV that isn't made by a vendor!

What percent do you use it at alone and do you steep yours first? I havent been able to make a good mix with it yet

Usually around 10% and I mix at max VG. Any more than that, around 12%+ it starts to get too nutty in my opinion and I say that even though I really enjoy pistachios. It hasn't changed too much from steeping but I mix with a heated magnetic stirrer which cuts down on steeping time.

It might be good with a little Vanilla Bean Ice cream, I haven't tried anything other than standalone with Pistachio yet though. A dark chocolate with pistachio might be really nice but I haven't had much luck with chocolates yet either.

I was working on a pistachio pudding. I used la pistachio at 7%. I don't remember what it tasted like, put I put it my never make again category.

I have sensed used it at 3% or less with other mixes and it's been ok.

The LA pistachio I got from ecig express had ethanol in it. The juice and vape (1.5% pistachio) had a plastic type smell and taste to it, was unvapeable for me. I have another juice steeping with LA pistachio in it, and it has a similar smell. (Ordered about 13 other LA flavors at the same time, none of the others had ethanol)

Haven't done research on ethanol beyond seeing comments that people avoid it. Going to try TFA pistachio in the future that someone else mentioned here.

If I'm wrong about the ethanol someone let me know, new at this.

Thanks for the replies. Plastic or some shitty solvent i guess kind of describes the smell and taste, although I did not note any numbness, I read another reviewer experienced. Giving TFA's a chance.

LA flavors shouldn't be used for vaping, although some have good taste they are made for the food industry, there's a bunch LA flavors that shouldn't be used, and this is one of those.
