Good Drip flavor but only taste VG in tank
submitted over 10 years ago by pepcfreak

Hey guys. Long time vapor here and decided to start making my own ejuice along with my neighbors. We have made some killer flavors they are quite good but we have run into a bit of a snag when tanking those same flavors into a sub-ohm tank like an Atlantis.

The mixtures are 75% VG and 25% flavor or 80/20 depending.

Any thoughts?

Are you having a problem with wicking, or with flavor? Either way you may want to increase PG to reduce viscosity or add distilled water/vodka/saline. If my memory serves me correctly, it should be about 1%

Edit: Just read title. Some of your subtle flavors are just going to have a harder time shining through on a tank vs a dripper. That's a problem that everyone has. You could try increasing your overall flavor or age your juice longer. Increasing PG will also help to carry flavor and/or reduce aging time

No issue with wicking.

I've been having the same problem. I recently tried aiming for something closer to 65/45 in the tank while also keeping the flavour percentages. It did ,obviously, improve thee flavour but i still felt it was slightly lacking. I didn't really want to increase the PG ratio so I increased the nic by 1mg, from 3 to 4mg, and it actually seems to be a lot better now.

I mix juices for tanks at the same ratios, but those people i mix th for also use the old ego style tanks still, so I have to bump the nic up to around 18mg hah

Atlantis tank generally needs more flavouring in juice to match what you get from an RDA.

I don't know why. It's a frustrating but very real thing. It doesn't apply equally to all flavours, some come through better than others in the Atlantis. But for flavour, RDA (and EVOD, go figger) works better.

PG/VG ratio doesn't seem to matter.

Call me crazy but I had the opposite issue with one of my mixes. 80/20 with 17% flavoring. Tasted great out of my kayfun, but all I could taste was a weird plasticy flavor when using my magma or tobh.

Ive said for a long time, that when someone posts a recipe, to mention what atty they use. When I make rda recipes, I dont need as much flavoring. When I make them for my kayfun or protanks, I need way more. More vapor, more taste, less vapor, less taste.
