So someone linked to vapingunderground forums down below about HICs selling recipes. So I cross referenced the recipes to here: https://gumroad.com/hic A lot of them seem to line up.. a lot of them.

This has potential to get interesting. Hey

I was thinking they may be HiC's recipes from Gumroad. It's pretty much all FA with the exception of a few. Seems to fit his mixing style too. Just speculation!

A lot of them do remind me of some Vaping Underground - HiC material. That Blackcurrant and Grape concord is the Catherine The Grape clone I saw on there I'm pretty sure of it. There are some recipes missing from gum road (I purchased a couple) and I don't see either of those listed.

~~They are. I own a few of these I believe.~~

~~Wait nevermind. Let me double check..~~

Nope, not it. I'm pretty sure these are just public HIC recipes... None of these are from Gumroad. Don't think HIC deleted any of these either.

Yup after a quick google search on a few of these flavors most of them are from HIC posted on Vaping Underground. They're still there so idk what's up with the secrecy, other than HIC's disclaimer at the top saying to not post outside of Vaping Underground.

These look like the ones that are posted over on VU (and on ELR I believe)

Just doing a quick scroll through and I recognized a bunch.

Well this is certainly interesting. If any of these flavors are recognizable I would think it would be the bottom few.

Overall very few of these sound like anything I'd like to vape. >:(

This bums me out to no end. Everything I've read from Hic has been very helpful and insightful. He did and still does a lot of hard/expensive work that others don't care to do. I wrote him a question about one of his recipes (free) and he promptly responded with a few different ways to solve the problem. All of his notes on FA's flavors changed my perspective on vaping and definitely changed my go to brand of flavors. Not like this matters, I just respect the guy and his effort and don't like to see it get exploited. I've read that all of these aren't his recipes, but a couple stood out to me and my response is about those recipes.

Get out of your shell, use your imagination, and make some damn good recipes yourself ;-)

What is the point of this? Whatever it is, ethically, it's not cool. And, frankly, cowardly.

Kinda crappy to repost someone else's recipes without attribution.

Kinda crappy to sell DIY recipes from a DIY section of a forum.

by o0turdburglar0oabout 10 years ago

Honest question... why is it crappy to sell recipes that you created yourself?

Seems like a more ethical way to make money from your creation than many others who are part of the DIY community, where they learn all they can and then start proprietary juice lines with secret recipes...

$3-5 for a recipe is a hell of a lot cheaper than the $15-20/30mL that most people charge.

If the guy wants to make a little money for what I can only imagine is a time-consuming and creative endeavor, I don't see the issue here.

by mayor-of-whoreislandabout 10 years ago

Well just imagine coming here, seeing a topic entitled something like "My best rendition of XXXX ever, must try!" clicking on it, and being forwarded to a payment page for the recipe.

I don't disagree with people making money on their creations, but selling recipes on a DIY site or forum seems to kind of go against the whole point of DIY.

by seratneabout 10 years ago

True. I didn't understand really what was going on. I just searched a couple of these recipes and saw they were already available on ELR and VU.

Not all of them are. Just looking at that first recipe, I can see that it's wllmc's custard that he posted here. As you can see he deleted it
