Okay, so, I was initially wary of this but I've been wanting to try some of the creamy flavours but I'm one of those that's paranoid about butter-lung that I've generally avoided problematic flavouring agents for the liquids. But when I was doing some browsing (I needed to pick up some dilution liquids and couldn't find any VG locally) I saw it and read the description.

No diketones, acetyl or acetoin... Okay... That seems good... But how does it taste?

Well, to be fair I think this might be one that is one of those "DO NOT use too much" flavours. I tried it at about 15% and it had a rough, somewhat unpleasant taste. Almost like warm cool whip or "I can't believe it's not butter" kinda deal... A bit chemically and a tiny bit unpleasant. That said, as that test batch steeped it toned down but it was still there somewhat and it's primarily as an aftertaste so the exhale is where it really comes forth.

But I tried it just now (unsteeped) as a 5% (cannot promise precision since I'm working with small batches and I don't have measured syringes for measurement.) and it's nice. It's a smooth creamy impression. Very delicate at that strength but still has most of it's "oomph" on the exhale/after-taste.

So, I tried mixing it with a 5% French Vanilla cream and 5% French vanilla (the "No custard" one.) With a tiny touch of ethyl maltol to smooth it and give it a tiny hint of extra sweetness and I'm actually impressed.

The taste on the inhale is not too subtle but it is delicate. It's present on the tongue but it may be missed if you have a dirty palette or have just finished drinking/eating something strong... But with a clean palette it's got a softly creamy flavour to it and a nice vanilla kick with just a tiny hint of an almost buttery undertone that lingers a tiny bit.

It has a very smooth taste to it as well as you could expect. If you recall ever having a "White chocolate hot chocolate" from Timothy's (a coffee shop chain that afaik isn't as popular nowadays) then you may be reminded of this. The sweetness of that beverage, however, isn't the same as the sweetness as this one. The beverage itself is cloyingly sweet in comparisson (I can only go on my memory of that beverage though.) and this one is almost like sweet cream with vanilla.

I'd suggest if you're looking for a creamy flavour that you want to use but are wary of the "butter-lung" then maybe give this one a shot. It's a simple flavour profile on it's own and I think it would work best as a base or a blending liquid. I'm going to see about mixing together an actual bottle of this (with other flavours to accentuate it, of course... I'm not one for simplicity) to see if I can make a recipe where this one is the star... But it's really growing on me and I'm starting to see why the creamy notes in liquids are desirable for a lot of people.

I suspect this might work well with a nice coffee or espresso flavour to give a nice latte taste to it... Or maybe some chocolate, or mint, or even cinnamon... But all in all, if you're looking for a creamy flavour that's (afaik) safe, maybe try a sample of this one. It's got a very nice, full-body creamy feel to it and if you get the right amount I suspect you'll be impressed.

But too much? No... Don't do that. I suspect this is a "No more than 10%" flavouring agent as the more you add in, the stronger the "Buttery" notes come through which I suspect will be unpleasant for most people.
