More testing with Zemea
submitted over 10 years ago by Helfrd0771

Before I get to my test results Id like to share the testing method.

Equipment: *Zenith RDA *0.8 ohm dual coil with 2.5 mm diameter *Puff's Organic cotton (Japanese) for the wick *Hana modz at 20 watts

Method

Step 1 I made two test batches. *Batch 1 was a 50/50 mix of PG and VG, 0nic. *Batch 2 was 50/50 mix of Zemea and VG, 0nic.

Step 2 I dripped Batch 1 on to a fresh build. I then vaped it and took notes at the same time.

Step 3 Drank water, and cleaned atty (wash in hot water, dry burn, new wick). Drank water again.

Step 4 I dripped Batch 2. Again vaped and took notes at the same time.

RESULTS

*Both batches had the same physical appearance, and smell (or lack there of).

*Batch 2 (Zemea) appeared to absorb faster in to the wick

*Both batches tasted like VG (as expected), however the "VG" taste was stronger in the Batch 2 (Zemea) after taste.

*Both batches appeared to have the same cloud (wispy), Batch 2 seemed to make more cloud, but still wispy, not like a pure VG cloud.

*Batch 1 delivered an average TH, Batch 2 had almost no TH (That said i do have a sore throat now, but I cant say which batch, or both, was the cause.)

I hope that this helps. If there is anything that you would like me clarify, leave a comment. Ill get back to you when I can, as I hope to sleep soon.

Here is the site that I received my sample from:

Note: The free sample is 1 liter

*After testing a recipe using zemea:

The recipe it self is a 50/50 mix, but cloud production seems more about a 30/70 mix. (pg/vg).

No noticeable difference in taste.

I would just like to know what it's like with flavors. And if you would consider leaving PG for just this stuff.

I just started vaping a recipe with Zemea instead for pg. The flavor seems to carry just as well. I used a recipe I make often (grandmaster clone). I don't notice a difference.

The cloud production, and throat hit seem to be the biggest difference.

Careful with that stuff:

CLASS B-3: Combustible liquid with a flash point between 37.8°C (100°F) and 93.3°C (200°F).

To be fair it appears that standard PG's flash point is only 30°F higher... I doubt anyone is going to blow their fingers off with this stuff.

PG's boiling point = 186C

PDO's boiling point = 214C

PG's Flash point = 103C - 194C

PDO's Flash point = 60C - 140C

I would be more concerned with the autoignition temp if I was worried about a fire hazard, and neither PG/PDO are of much concern there.

I would be very interested in hearing how it vapes straight

I don't like throat hits, but maybe for science I can vape it straight.

I'll try when I get home later.

Thank you. I'm really excited to hear what you think

Sorry for the long delay.

The straight Zemea is sweet. Not like vg sweet. It has almost a clean medical taste, if that makes sense. Very light in taste. I'm confident in saying that it will be easily covered with a normal amount of flavor.

It still has very lightly throat hit (good for me).

It also has a decent cloud, but not near the amount of straight vg. More like something you would get out of evod atty.

Fyi I used the same atty, coil set up, and watts as the first test.

Did you get the Zemea USP or just regular Zemea?

Honestly it didn't say. The msds says that it's been deemed safe for inhalation. It also says to contact DuPont, for a contract, before using for medical purposes.

Oh ok. I was looking at it on duponts website and there was Zemea and Zemea USP. Im about to see about getting that sample lol

What application did you list? Did you tell them it was for Vaping?

I hear DuPont dislikes vaping.
