Well everyone, the mailman arrived on time, and I spent the better part of 6, maybe even 7 hours mixing away. First things first...thank you to everyone that offered advice on my mango dilemma the other day. Now as a man of my word, here is the finished product. Now mind you, this didn't take me 7 hours to make, this one was first....then if I remember correctly 15ish other recipes to age in the basement.

I love Capella sweet mango! It's always in my arsenal of flavors. The only bad thing about it is that after about 3 weeks of steeping, it develops a sort of musky aftertaste. Kind of reminds me of my girlfriend's hair after a long walk because of the shampoo that she uses. Its still one of my favorite flavors, but I never mix in batches over 30ml.
My favorite mango recipe is:
7% cap sweet mango
3% tfa strawberry
2% cap sweet strawberry
1% tfa coconut extra
I dabbled with a sticky rice base but gave up on it because I didn't feel like doing al the research/purchasing/testing required to find a good mango flavor, given that I heard many are weak.
I am going to save this, work on the sticky rice, and try some mango sticky rice once and for all.
Can you share some info? How and why did you come to these percentages? Explain the taste? I haven't been a fan of my tfa mango, but if this is an awesome start to a mango flavor, I'd be picking these up For sure.
Absolutely! For starters, with the exception of Flavor West and perhaps one or two others, I tried each Mango flavor by itself to see what it was doing...and hoping a single fruit flavor would be a single fruit flavoring . I'll go in to some detail...

TFA Mango - gives off the "earthy" aroma common among various types of Mangos, but the taste as a single flavor was akin to a sweet hairspray.

INW Mango - not an accurate taste in my opinion, but gives off a really unique exhale flavor that I wanted in the finished product.

TFA Phillipine Mango - Forgot this one initially.... This, at 10% single flavoring tasted just like....nothing. No sweet essence, no tart anything....no discernible flavor at all. I let it sit for 2-3 days, tried again on a fresh tongue, and met with nothing again. Promptly washed out the bottle for recirculating, and threw this flavor in the garbage. Perhaps I got a dud, but it's been written off in my notes as a bust.

Hangsen Mango - according to the Master Flavoring Review on the sidebar, this is an uber authentic flavor, but I must disagree. It's not bad in its own right, perhaps just not what I was looking for.

CAP Sweet Mango - This is the one.... A few days ago I posted a cry for help on how to make my master mango mix. I had mentioned that I found a couple elements that I wanted to include(see TFA/INW Mango above) but I could not find the "meat", or backbone of the mix. Some cape mail showed up yesterday, this was in the box. I mixed it at I believe 2% in a 50/50 VG/PG solution to gauge flavor, and I was sold. It has all of the main taste elements of a Mango that I was looking for... The sweet, somewhat tart, pulpy taste with a sweet exhale.
Now, percentages.... I knew I wanted CAP to be the front runner, so this would be the highest concentration. I started off with 5% due to concentration. I knew I wanted the TFA to punch through a bit, but not overpower the CAP, so I put this at 3 to start. Given the lacking potency of most TFA flavores, figured this would be a decent start. INW flavors are powerful, and I didn't want much of this flavor showing up for the party, so I started at 1%. The mix wasn't bad, but it wasn't right. Played around with the numbers a bit, mixed up a couple 5ml testers, and settled on this mix. Is it perfect, no. Is it 100% what I set out to do, no. Is it damn good tasting and bloody close enough, that it is.
The taste, as authentic as I feel like chasing for now. It has the earthen quality that TFA brings, the bitter/tart/sweet exhale INW provides, and the sweet, pulpy, velvety taste CAP offers. Authenticity, I give 85-90%. Good enough for my first "final" recipe!
Nice write up, I'm tempted to order those soon. I'll watch for updates on your mango flavors ;D Where do you plan on taking it from here? Cream? Or as a base to mix with tropical flavors? I wonder if a dash of watermelon and tiniest amount of coconut would take it to another level. Or acids...
I'm sure all of the above would go smashingly. Where I intend to take The Mango!, nowhere really. Mango has always been a staple of my ecig diet, the mrs too. This was a necessary recipe in the journey to cut ties with juice shops. Will I make this in to other mixes, I'm sure I will. But for now, I'm simply enjoying my first real success on the DIY path.

The INW Mango was engaged in a fistfight with the strawberry, so I decided to put it on timeout for this one. This isn't a bad recipe, but I'm not 100% sold that it's the "final" version.
Not sure if this helps alot, but I've found that adding just a small amount of CAP golden pineapple at very low percentages really helps the CAP Mango sweet shine. I add like .5% pineapple to a 4-6% mango.
Finally ordered the Inw and Sweet Mango! Can't wait to try this with Sweet Cream and Vanilla Swirl for a Mango yogurt!
Do share results when you do! I added TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream at 3% for a really nice Mango Sorbet.
Should be arriving today. Are you still mixing this at the same percentages? Or do you have an updated versionn that you feel is better?
I know this post is super old, but I just wanted to say thanks! I love mangoes and I was unsatisfied with FA Mango (tasted like peach to me). I then bought ALL THE MANGOES and to me TFA's smells the most like a real mango.
This recipe is great! I added citric and malic acid (after trying it first) and I think it helped brighten it up and provided a little bit of sharp bite to it.

My favorite fizzy drink is a Mango flavored and wondered what people's thoughts were on adding a bit of 'fizz' to this? Does anyone know of a good way to add fizz to a flavor?
