Hi all, I'm very new to DIY and my first real project is going to be creating a cucumber mint juice for a friend.
I'm thinking TFA cucumber with a little TFA honeydew? I'm unsure of percentages for each and I have no idea what kind of mint to use that will pair well with these two.
My friend is not a huge menthol fan, so I'm looking for something big on mint flavor but not too mentholated. Does that make sense? Does such a flavor exist?
Any advice would be very appreciated.
Edit: Thank you for the great response everyone! I think I'll pick up some FA cucumber, CAP cool mint, FW cucumber mint and INW natural mint to experiment with!
I've made this! But with different brands.
I used
4% FA cucumber
1 drop (per 20 mL...it's strong) INW Natural mint
The Inawera mint does have a cooling effect similar to menthol, but not quite as strong
Meloncholy by /u/point_five_ohms is a really good cucumber mint recipe. This might be what you are searching for, cucumber flavor comes through nicely with honeydew notes and koolada gives the cool feel without menthol effect. I really like it as is with a lot less koolada.
Thanks for the mention. I'm happy to hear that you like the recipe. I'm currently working on a revised Meloncholy recipe. It's a bit more subtle with a creamy/milky finish to it. It's still a work in progress, but pretty good so far.

2nd Edit: corrected link.
I did a FlavourArt cucumber with kiwi. The cucumber they carry is very realistic, maybe use that instead of TFA. As far as the mint goes, i'm not sure, I stay away from mint like the plague, but most of the herbal flavour art stuff is pretty good that ive had is pretty good, like the jasmine and lavender, so they probably have a decent spearmint or something of that nature
Thanks for your input. I'm definitely open to other brands of cucumber and melon as well. Not sure who has the best version of either flavor.
