THREE CHEERS FOR...
submitted about 10 years ago by bmilcs

Fizzmustard, VAPOR TRAILS!, Botboy, OREO, returnity, nudenic, optimitrist ? And everyone else who contributes to this subreddit.

I am a very busy guy with a wife, 7 and 11 year old stepsons... and i just moved out for the first time. My life is jam packed to say the least.

Without the amazing recipes and inspiration you guys have so generously provided to the public.... from the goodness of your heart... I would never have been able to afford the crazy prices of premium eliquid. You have helped my wife and I put an end to 2.5 decades of smoking between the 2 of us... with ease.

I can't say enough how much we appreciate you all. I don't post much but absorb all that I can... but this one means sonething. You guys deserve some love.

Thanks again

Holy crap...the reason I spend time here is to help folks quit cigarettes. If it works, even once, it makes all the time worthwhile. Thank YOU for your contributions and feedback!

Your nana cream clone has single handedly converted a half dozen of my friends to vaping. You're (literally) doing God's work son.

You're too kind.

I've never been great at taking praise, but when it's for something I've done that helps a person improve their life then I'll take it.

Honestly, it's why I try to make myself so available. In a lot of ways, vaping has grown away from its roots as a smoking alternative. I mean, I get it...I'm a vendor too. There's a market to be served, but we can't sacrifice the real goal here.

Thanks again for the kind words.

Shout out from Ukraine! You wouldn't believe how bad the industry is over here. The only two ways to vape here are: dekang or order abroad and mix, so you are pretty much a messiah. Thank you!

You helped me to brother! Loved the strawberry and cream recipie. Thanks for doing everything you do. I can barely afford concentrates let alone premium juice, you're a life saver sir! Would love to see some of your other recipes some day.

Not smoked for 2 months now!

Post like this make me smile :) there are so many more names we're forgetting, and so many more lurkers that we wish would say hi and come join in.

Whats the next step for you? Some larger batches or more flavor development? Or have you already found home with the recipes and equipment you have on hand? The latter is always a rarity and if so, we all want to give you and extreme two thumbs up :-) funny, we rarely get posts about diy'ers extatic about the fliudness of their daily diy routine, rather breakthroughs in their process. Both are equally applaudable :D

Best, Jake

How did I forget you Jake! I am loving my nude nicotine. You provide so many with a fantastic product. Thanks!!

I'm at the point now where I'm mixing 450-500ml batches of my favorite recipes found here. They're taking forever to steep lol. Thought I messed up but I was very careful so I play the waiting game on 6 different bottles. mustard milk has inspired me to start developing more mixes of my own and will be getting to it soon =)

by NudeNicotineabout 10 years ago

Now its time to inveatigate s9me accelerated steeping once you know you can achieve that target flavor in the end after your lengthier steep :)

I was all about it but heat worries me I stopped using the ultrasonic for fear it diminishes flavor a bit. Any suggestions for pint size ball jars? They all have nicotine in them already and don't want to ruin it

Your right there's some amazing people here. Iv learned so much here & have found some great recipes. All the ones you named as well as /u/returnity, /u/toonman, /u/rlaitinen, /u/daath, /u/davesnothear, /u/simlet, /u/thirdworldorder, /u/captain_sasquatch, /u/glitchlol, /u/badgerfacedcat, /u/abdada. These are just the ones from the top of my head that have either helped me personally or that I see contribute info that makes this sub what it is. There's quite a few others that are major contributors that I can't think of at the moment. But ya we wouldn't have a DIY sub if it wasn't for these guys

Don't forget to mention Enyawreklaw!

I don't know how to do what you did with user mentionings :/

Haha thanks man! I love this community and the creativity coming out of this sub is so inspiring. One of my favorite things from this community is when one of us posts a recipe, and then someone makes it even better. This is how we have these amazing recipes and clones. And the friendly competitions we all have with each other to make better juices is really what this is all about!

Whenever you type out the username with the /u/ in front of it, you tag the user. Reddit automatically links it up for you. /u/aaa12585 :D

Thanks for the mention, much appreciated although i hardly feel worthy. Thats a pretty impressive list there!

Chi-Tony, does that mean you are from flatlandia? A couple in that list are. Im a bit more north, haling from the land of cheese and beer.

When I started DIY I was clueless, with all the contributions you & the others have contributed I almost felt like I knew what I was doing in a short time. And have some amazing recipes to show for all of YOUR hardwork:) And ya just a few minutes from downtown, I know Abdada is from around here but wasn't aware of any others. Use to to live in Gurnee so I've been north of the border a few times.

Im glad i was able to be of assistance, that makes it all worthwhile. Im up in K-town, the very north side, down by the lake. Nice to meet people from around these parts!

Thanks for the tag! One name that is definitely missing from that list is /u/The_Perrycox. He's the only one that I know who is willing to try anything FW makes. I'm actually quite surprised that he's still alive

by Chi-Tonyabout 10 years ago

Lol. I've definitely seen his name a ton of times. I really did this just off memory, feel bad that I forgot a few important contributors to this forum.

I am of the belief that without risk, there would be no discovery! There's definitely gems to be had from each manufacturer.

I've been on an Inawera kick lately. Their stuff is incredible! I had only 4 of their flavors before, but now I can't get enough!

Yes thanks for all your contributions!

I have some of OREO's VC in a bottle right now!

Fizz's awesome replies and recipes and same to Botboy141, you guys are great!

I have 3 modded orchids at work right now:

  1. Mustard Milk
  2. Oreo VC
  3. VT French Toast

LIFE IS GOOD.

It takes a somewhat thick skin and patience to hang around here. I've seen a lot of people start posting, get involved with the community, then just disappear. People can contemplate the usefulness of this sub all they want. I'm sure a plethora of people have learned how to mix solely from the info here.

by bmilcsabout 10 years ago

The world is far too sensitive nowadays. With the explosion of vaping popularity, it's more and more difficult to keep thread quality high so I'm all for the thick skinned nature of it all.

3 Cheers! Thanks to all the contributors and a special thanks to Fizzmustard, Botboy, OREO, optimitrist....

Definitely! Vaping has been a life saver and the contributions here are icing on that cake.

I didn't see thanks to project_twenty5oh1 so my wife and I would like to thank him for that delicioius Polar Bear clone not to mention his other contributions.

I knew I forgot a few, just tried to recall off top of my head & bring more attention to this thread because there's a lot of people who need to be thanked for all there contributions.

by vabch22about 10 years ago

agreed. those are just a few of the awesome guys that have helped me so much in diy just by reading their notes or asking them for input. not to mention all their time and effort in tasting notes, etc. thanks guys!

I'm in the same boat. Two step kids and in insanely busy life. I would love to be able to sit down get to know every flavor and spend days on end tinkering with new mixes but most days I'm lucky to have time to rewick lol. I owe so much to the wonderful people here. Not only can I enjoy amazing juice at pennies on the dollar but even though I don't have a ton to contribute yet I feel like I'm part of a community that truly cares about each other and I find that really amazing in a world so crazy and self centered most of the time. Thank you all so much for what you do and know you make a huge difference in the lives of so many people!

Preach my man. I'm not alone lol.

Have you tried mustard milk yet? Awesome stuff! I've been vaping it nonstop for several weeks now... 200ml down the hatchet.

1 points

by odoyal63about 10 years ago

I whipped it up the second I saw it. It's awesome! I'm gonna have to start making 120ml at a time

1 points

by bmilcsabout 10 years ago

Dude yes. I started with 50ml, lasted 2 days, then 120 now 450 =)

I really appreciate all the great recipe posters here, and I have to say /u/botboy141 is my favorite. <3

I don't have a ton of time or energy to create and tinker with recipes and this subreddit is truly awesome for finding great recipes.

ECF is such a cluster fuck for finding recipes and I'm glad that this subreddit has grown so much over the last year or so.

ECF is a CF for finding anything. There are a million different forums and sub-forums and sub-sub-forums, and stuff is scattered everywhere.

Just came to second OP. If it weren't for all the great mixers and sharing on this sub I don't know that my girlfriend and I could've stuck with vaping as well as we did. Now we've turned quitting into a great hobby for us to share. I look forward to being able to contribute more as I get better at this!

I had high hopes for DIY but I've been quite ill so it's on the back burner for now. I still enjoy reading this sub though! There are some amazingly talented folks here. Edited to add last line.
