Help with Key Lime Cheesecake
submitted over 10 years ago by seabterry

Here is the recipe I am using.

Cheesecake (Graham Crust)(TPA - 4%

Key Lime (TPA) - 2%

Sweet Cream (TPA) - 2%

It doesn't pop the way I want it to. Do you guys have experience with the Key Lime? Will upping the percentage be too much and potentially mute the flavor?

This is Botboy's Key Lime Pie. Of all the recipes of his I've mixed, this is my favorite.

  • 1.70% FA Custard

  • 3% TFA Key Lime

  • 1% TFA Pie Crust

  • 2% TFA Cheesecake Graham Crust

  • .50% FA Lime Cold Pressed

fucking delicious

I can't wait to try this, but I need the Pie Crust and the Lime Cold Pressed!

It's truly a wonderful recipe. I'm having a Margarita day, and your post inspired to mix up a bottle real quick. It's delicious after 15 mins in a pocket and a vigorous shake.

I've never made a bottle last more than a day or two, but apparently the lime fades a bit after a couple/few weeks. I usually only mix 15ml's at a time of any given recipe, so it works for me!

It's a great recipe but the key lime fades fast :(

Lime cp is amazing. I use it for so many lime juices it's unreal.

Have you tried a little bit of lemon? It helps in a lot of my citrus flavors.

No. I can, but I would need to order it. I have looked into buying a lemon anyways for a Lemonade flavor.

Just a couple drops of tfa lemon really helps the lime pop. I like a combination of FW lemonade and tfa lemon, or fa/ca lemon sicily for a less traditional lemonade. I see some people on here hate FW lemonade but it works for me.

FW lemonade is good, especially to help brighten things up.

I'd suggest:

5% Cheesecake (GC)

8% Key Lime

3% Sweet Cream

Try about 7 or 8%, I do a key lime pie and use that percentage.

And leave the others at their current percentage?

Yeah, they don't seem bad.

Here is the recipe I am using and it is my favorite key lime pie after testing out a few of them.

***Key Lime Pie
9% Key Lime
4% Graham Cracker
3% Vanilla Swirl
2% Cheesecake

Very close to my key lime pie. I do 8/3/3 of key lime/graham/cheesecake. I might need to try it with some vanilla.

I've tried it both ways and prefer the vanilla added.

My first try at Key Lime Pie. It's not bad, but I may try graham cracker in it and perhaps some sour.

Key Lime (TPA) 7.5%

Maraschino Cherry (TPA) .5%

Meringue (FA) 1%

Pie Crust (TPA) 4%

This looks good. Can I use the Cheesecake Graham Crust for that Cheesecake?

I don't see why not. You'll need to start small with it and adjust up of course to find what you like.

Love this! We added 2 drops tfa lemon per 15ml and it really brought out the key lime. Thank you.

I'd try marshmallow over sweet cream if you have it. (Around5-7%)

5-7 % marshmallow?

by RM_vapesover 10 years ago

I'm not sure the question, but that's roughly what I'd try. I haven't made that flavor in a while. Those are the rough percentages I'd start with.

I do have it. I'll try that in Version 3.

You could also try FA Lime Tahity Cold Pressed. Also someone made a key lime recipe I think thats supposed to be really good. I think its botboy141's recipe not sure.

My current satisfactory recipe for KLC is:

TPA NY Style Cheesecake 9%

TPA Key Lime 5%

10% EM solution 6%

Key lime is very tart and acidic, which is why I've got the cheesecake and EM so high. I tried lower percentages, but it wasn't coming through. The lime and cheesecake kind of cancel each other out and the EM kind of mutes it, but it needs the sweetness or its too bitter. I'm not really a fan of high flavor % but in this one all the components are kind of working against each other, so you have to go high to make it taste right.

Its vapable right away, but better after a week or two.

Looks like I need to order some TFA Key Lime. Word to the wise, FW Key Lime is AWFUL. I've tried so many different alterations to get a good key lime pie but FW's Key Lime is just not doing it for me.
