Linda at TFA did say butryic acid is used in this flavor. Makes sense to produce the creamy/tangy flavor.
Too bad it doesn't jump out as yogurt to you but we'll see how it matures. Regardless of it's authenticity, do you think it would be useful as a more generic cream base compared to other TFA flavors?
The Schwartz makes some of the tastiest yogurt flavors on shelves right now- after tasting this I'm inclined to think its not a part of those recipes. FA is still the most....full bodied?...yogurt I've had. I'm not as concerned about diacetyl as I was, but this is definitely a flavor profile that is going to run into diketones a lot.
Yea this company is popular around me too. The thing is, small juice companies don't mind using flavors with diacetyl in it. If it tastes good, they will sell it, it's just the reality in an unregulated market.
Also, I know Villain Vapors released an orange yogurt flavor that's pretty darned good. Not sure if diacetyl is present though =/
