Saw on Bull City's website, really pricey at 4.99 per 5ml.
After wllmc and HiC threw complete fits and pulled a majority of their recipes as well as admonished Daath, I have zero intentions of supporting that guy.
Agree with this, kinda silly to me, especially after HIC ranted 1000x over that he'd never do this for money and then released his site...
Anyways, I can tell you it's majority FA flavors. I'm fairly confident I have 99% of their released recipes saved.
I find it funny they go back and delete old posts, when I do just the opposite, I sell something for a few months and then I release the recipe =). It's not like the DiY community and the general vaping population that buy juice are in anyway the same group of folks...
I may be mistaken but I think I recall they layed into you pretty good for something petty over there several months back. I lost all respect for them then and they aren't getting it back. Not they they care but.
>Anyways, I can tell you it's majority FA flavors. I'm fairly confident I have 99% of their released recipes saved.
Anyway you could share those?
While I see your point, I also feel that mamajs is offering a good service to people with the sample sizes of FA flavors. I think that in itself is worth supporting. wllmc is still offering up some recipes on vaping underground here and there, and I can appreciate that. I am glad that they're making some money from the amount of work they've put in on recipes, even if I think they had a major over reaction over the posting of recipes here.
It is a little odd that HIC sells his recipes now - and while I've purchased a couple out of curiosity (and to support someone I feel has given a lot of good information to the vaping community), I was disappointed if I didn't have all the flavors that were in the recipe, and one of the ones I purchased I didn't like very much.
Eliquidmart is still a few cents cheaper for FA sample sizes :)
Normally I'm all about supporting hobbyists and small business. It's why I pay twice as much for fish from my local shop as opposed to petco. As others have rehashed, it's silly to pull your content from the public eye. Especially when you were putting it out there with "good intentions".
Entitlement happens everywhere, and if I am able to choose to take my business elsewhere.... that's what I do. The whole VU circle jerk was too off putting anyways. It wasn't much of a community as it was a few people having their ego stroked. It went to their heads and that was that.
At least this community continues to grow, and thus far the improvement is noticeable.
Did Eliquidmart recently start offering 5ml? I didn't see that before, but maybe I wasn't the most observant when I ordered from them - I do appreciate the free shipping from Mamaj's with orders over $20 - and I'd agree that their premixes are pricey.
VU DIY people are generally pretty nice, but when I read that drama thread, it felt like it became a pile on to Botboy141 - and he was more apologetic then he needed to be. The ego stroking does tend to keep me away from posting over there... but you're going to get that sort of thing in any community. I also am not a big fan of the people responsible for VU in general.
I feel that people like wllmc & HIC should reap some rewards for their hard work - mainly because there's so many profiteers in vaping currently. How often do you see a new juice company pop up that basically takes recipes from the web and sells them as their own? How many B&M's make their own liquids, but use jacksters Cereal Killa clone? That's the sort of company I choose never to support. That's a far cry from Botboy141 offering to mix up a clone recipe for someone if they're curious about it - I think that's a pretty cool offer. I agree that pulling things you've put out on the web and getting angry over it isn't cool, especially since they should have realized what they were doing in the first place - but I can't fault them too much over it. If they run a legit business based on their own hard work and treat people well in the process, then I can forgive that initial bit of ill will. That's just how I feel, and I'm not trying to convince anyone to see things the way I do. I can respect your stance (as well as others), but I will continue to recommend that people pick up the 3ml sample flavorings from mamajs because of the free shipping and how fast I received them after my order.
I agree that this place has grown tremendously, even in just the past couple months. I look forward to it becoming a bigger resource, and contributing when I can. It's exciting to see how much new content is on the front page everyday.
Sorry for the wall of text... oops.
Honestly I haven't mixed a recipe from hic over there that I thouroughly enjoyed. Only one was from wllmc it was the lemon lime something vape and was really tasty. But also nothing I wouldn't have ended up making myself (lemon, lime, and meringue is all it is if I recall correctly lol).
What happened? I remember them talking about doing something like this, then seeing BCV selling MMJ flavors which seemed like flavors ready to be mixed. Then I looked at the shitty MMJ website and saw a HIC line and I was just confused at the whole situation.
>as well as admonished Daath
I missed that part. But yeah, I don't support the shit they did at all. After I saw HiC had a website selling recipes and I saw all the people on VU supporting him for it, I was like "ummmm no thanks" and have been avoiding VU since then. Shame too. wllmc and him both had some good stuff out there.
I've had the dr pepper one. Sorta tastes like FA Cola.
These are just mostly FA Mixes from wllmc at vaping underground. He used to share some of these recipes until he went into business and then went around removing his old posts, although others like myself saved a bunch of them. People at VU have raved about the Custard that he never released before, but take that with a grain of salt because those guys rave about anything that he or HiC make.
Here's the Rep Pep RD one here that you can try, to see if you like it. $5 is quite a lot IMO for 5ml of premix. DIY Flavor Shack makes some pretty tasty premixes if you're into that
I gotta.say, I'm kinda on the same.page.as.botboy on this. If you want to go into business, fine, but what's been posted already is well, already posted. I'm kinda fascinated that a dude who only uses a stick battery with evod can taste half of.what.is said in some long winded description.
Checking in to up vote the usual suspects and down vote Mama J's. I lost any respect or goodwill towards wllmc and HiC when they decided all of their publicly posted recipes somehow have exclusive content rights. They both posted hundreds of flavorart recipes. Not surprised they finally tried to cash in, but they are doing it in the worst possible way.
I left VU for that reason. It was all about community and sharing then all of a sudden it was the opposite. Lots of bad attitudes arose the in the last few days of HIC/WllMC leaving. Next thing you know they are opening shops and selling recipes. It was a weird time. I use to crosspost my recipes there and here but I have ceased to visit their much anymore. The place seems kind of dead now and the only thing there is HIC recipes popping up on the first page when people reply; no new ideas, notes, or recipes. This sub has it for me and I am glad to be a part of it.
So who runs Mama J's? HIC or wllmc or both?
wllmc, my understanding is that his wife/girlfriend helps him out a good bit with the day to day stuff.
Honestly, I like wllmc, we've had some cool discussions and shared some ideas with one another. I'm just meh on anyone that decides to retract information they've put out there for the public so they can turn around and try to capitalize on the reputation they built by giving stuff away for free.
agreed, Aren't most of hic's recipes on other diy recipes anyway? If he was trying to take them all down he didn't do a good job.
I just received a small shipment ($40/13 bottles) of FA flavorings from Mama Js Juice, a small vendor I have never used before... and the stank coming from the package was overpowering.
The smell was bad enough to bring my post-box manager out front to ask me to 'Please pick up these kind of packages the day they're delivered.' It was embarrassing as hell. I had to pull over on the way home and put the nasty package in the bed of my truck.
I complained to Mama Js about the problem and told him the above, and the vendor called me a liar and said I was trying to scam him out of free juice!
So I gave him the benefit of the doubt and let them air out in the bathroom window for a couple days in a new open ziploc baggie. Still stinky after that. (I don't want to wash the bottles and lose the labels.) I got back in touch and demand a refund. (and scolded the vendor)
I don't know for sure what the horrid smell is but I think it's nicotine base.
These are mostly all fruit flavors and I don't think they would smell like this even if they were all mixed together in a bowl...
All I know for sure is that this contaminated package has been a rockin' PITA... Hours spent writing emails and airing out products that can't be stored in my closet with all my other flavorings. I thought he was a good vendor but there is no way on earth nobody noticed the foul stench before it was sent out.
But instead of waiting to get the returned stinky package back, and maybe improving his safety procedures, the vendor began a pissy little internet flame war with his friends on another forum.
For the record, there was no problem with the actual flavorings. It just smells like strong nicotine base was spilled on or inside the package before it was sent out.
Mistakes happen, I get that. We all make mistakes, and we learn from them... But Mama Js Juice blamed their contamination mistake on the customer...
IMO, Mama Js Juice cannot be trusted for basic contamination and safety procedures.
I learned this the hard way and will not be ordering from them again.
