Making a juice that seems "dry" more moist on the pallet?
submitted over 10 years ago by AzzyAzzborn

Hey Guys. This sub is the best on the internet for DIY Juice, seriously. So I pose this question. I have a juice I am very happy with but I need it to be a little "wetter" if that makes sense. It's a fruit blend with some sour and a tony bit of sweetner. The flavor is great but it feels a little bit dry. What can I add to make it more wet. Thanks a bunch guys.

Try some FA Meringue

FA Marshmallow would work as well for an unflavored, creamy wetness in the range of .5-1%

Marshmallow can help add that mouth feel in small amounts!

I would try a little marshmallow or even a tiny bit of em. I'm not a huge fan of em I think it mutes the flavor too much but it has its place from time to time

Thanks for the info. My concern with the EM is exactly what you mentioned about muting.

Saline is supposed to increase "wetness". I've never done it myself though.

You may have luck reducing your pg percentage, as pg absorbs water and makes your mouth dry.

Try a saline solution. Definitely helped my strawberry limeade!

Like just water and a saline solution? Couple drops?

Yep. Make a 0.9% saline solution (49.55 g distilled water and 0.45 g non-iodized salt) and then use that in your juice. I usually do anywhere between 1% and 5%

Sweet, thanks man

I usually add 1-2% toasted marshmallow for creams and desserts, and 1-2% peach for fruits and candies, when the flavors fit in. I'm sure there's ways that are less intrusive on the flavor, though.

I literally try .1 of some flavors until it goes away. Like flavors that will go good with the juice. All trial and error. I might invest in saline solution soon
