I'm about to take the plunge into DIY. I see the little Capella bottles of 13ml and TFA 15 ml. The next size up is a 4oz bottle. That's huge! How far will a 15ml bottle go? Is that enough to start out with?

Oh ya 15ml is way good to try flavors. I normally try single flavors at 10% flavoring, so 15ml would make 150ml. Good luck in the plunge!
You just mix the individual flavor with your pg/vg ratio and vape it?
At first yes. I suggest starting with single flavors. Get to know their tastes so when you go to do more complex vapes with multiple flavors you will know what to tweak.
agreed, my first few bottles were mixes that turned out to be pretty useless because I couldn't tell exactly which notes were coming from which flavor. So if you try them all as single flavors it's easier to identify the flavor in the mix if you want/need to tweak it.
Use wizard labs to buy the 8ml sizes to try them. If you find you are using a lot, get yourself the bigger sizes. I have 4oz of things like fruit hoops, Bavarian cream, vanilla swirl, and sweet cream. I use these flavors in a lot of recipes. Cap I have 30ml bottles of vanilla custard v1 and sweet strawberry . Other flavors, like coffee and cinnamon I use little of (like .5% or less per recipe) and an 8ml bottle will last me a long time.
I just go ahead and buy 4oz. Nit that expensive and saves me another order if I like it. I'm ordering a few flavors in 16oz note

My first order I bought 1 gallon of VG 1L of PG 120ml of nicotine, 17 extracts, and the syringe kit for $191
15ml is more than enough to start with. If you use it up, consider the 4oz. People like me who buy 4oz bottles are generally wasting their money most of time because it's not possible to use up all the flavoring before the shelf life has expired. Trading your excess flavoring is one way to minimize the damage
How do I know when the shelf life of my flavorings has expired? None of my TFA or CAP bottles have expiration dates on them. Is there a general rule like one year or something?
