First shot at Lucky Charms
submitted over 10 years ago by i_seenMixologist

Hey all,

I gave a Lucky Charms recipe a go and after a short steep I think I'm on the right track here. I'd love to hear some feedback!

  • FA Meringue 3%
  • FE Lemon 2%
  • FW Yellow Cake 2%
  • TFA Marshmallow 2.5%
  • FW Hazelnut 2.5%
  • TFA Bavarian Cream 2%

It's nice and milky like TongueFuck, but with a nice toasted cereal flavor from the FA Meringue with lots of marshmallow sweetness.

I know its probably better to just make it individually with all the different components but the TFA Lucky Leprechaun flavor I swear smells just like the marshmallows out of lucky charms with a bit of cereal flavor. Maybe you could try it at a small percent as an add on. Anyway this looks good but im missing the lemon to make it, just ordered from ECX too...dammit I keep forgetting things

Awesome idea, I had no idea that flavor even existed lol. I need to try adding that at a smaller percentage and see what happens.

Yea it might be good. I just got it recently and haven't played with it much, only one mix at low %. When I bought it, I only saw it on the bulk page at TFA/TPA. I got 4oz. I am really lacking in the lemon dept., All I have is juicy lemon from CAP. Two questions...What are some other good lemon flavors? Can FE Lemon be bought in bulk? Seems like people love that stuff, I haven't tried it yet but I am assuming I will want a lot.

I don't have a lot of experience with lemon flavors, but I really can't imagine a better one than FE Lemon. It's the most spot-on lemon I could possibly imagine, period.

I haven't seen it in sizes larger than 120ml in a while. I think the largest size I've seen that's currently available is 30ml.

You can get 500 ml for $95. I do not regret spending $95 on one flavor.

I have all of these flavors. I'll mix a 10ml up here in a few and let you know!

U have any Rice Crunchies? Might be good @ 1% or so.

I do not, but I'm sure it would add more of that toasted cereal note.

Just curious what the lemon brings to the mix? Don't think I've ever tasted it in Lucky Charms. I'll mix this up next mixing session for sure though.

It comes across very mildly but IMO it opens up the whole blend a bit and adds to the "sharpness" of the cereal.

Have you played anymore with this? I have all but the lemon flavoring I believe, and may play with this some.

Have you tried anything in place of the Lemon, also, how is it without the lemon completely?

Yes I have. The lemon is there mainly just to brighten up the blend and make the overall flavor "pop", I'm sure you could get away with another lemon sub. It's still lucky charms without the lemon, just a bit more bland.

Alrighty, well I don't have many flavors, and I just happened to luckily buy everything needed for your recipe except lemon (bought flavors to do the Hooper recipe on here), and have some leftover from my first ordered. I listed them below in case maybe you have a suggestion for the lemon sub. I don't know, maybe it would be smarter to just leave the lemon out for now.

My current flavor list is:

  • Berry Crunch TPA
  • Cake (Yellow) FW
  • Fresh Cream FA
  • DX Banana Cream TPA
  • DX Bavarian Cream TPA
  • Hazelnut FW
  • Juicy Peach TPA
  • Marshmallow TPA
  • Meringue FA
  • MTS Vape Wizard FA
  • Orange Cream TPA
  • Smooth TPA
  • Strawberry Ripe TPA
  • Sweet Strawberry CAP
  • Tart and Sour LA
  • Vanilla Custard V2 CAP
  • Vanilla Swirl TPA
  • Vienna Cream FA

Hmmm, there aren't any great subs in that list. LA Tart and Sour might work if you use it in a really low concentration.

Maybe throw some Milk (TFA) in there? Looks great though. I'm a bit hungry. haha

It could definitely just be my taste buds, but TFA Dairy, Milk, and Malted Milk all make any blend I put them in taste like goblin cum.

If I were to want to replace the Hazelnut and the Yellow Cake, what would your recommendations be?

Hmmm, that'd be a bit tricky since those are so crucial to making up that toasted oat cereal flavor.

If you're looking for subs to use and still taste like the original recipe, I think you may be out of luck. That said, you could absolutely sub those and have it still taste great, just not like the original recipe.

Maybe try subbing them with a boosted Meringue % alongside a small amount of TFA Berry Crunch & FA Fresh Cream. I'll bet if you use just enough, you could get the AP/toasted oat flavor to come through without tasting the berries much, if at all.

Alright, thank you for the recommendation. I'm not sure I'm going to drop the 2 flavors I mentioned, but I noticed a lot of complaints about the ingredients and how bad they are on coils. I made the recipe minus the lemon and it was really good, but it took a few days to brighten up, and the flavors were a bit muted. I tried another recipe by /u/Zellgadiss , which was pretty spot on, but the liquid changes drastically after a couple days into something totally different.
