Coconut vs Coconut Extra (TFA)
submitted over 10 years ago by CryptoVaper

If a recipe calls for 2% TFA Coconut and I just have TFA Coconut Extra, should I use it at 2% also or reduce it to some fraction of that amount?

Use half or even quarter measurement. Big difference between any flavor when there's a regular and then an "extra" TFA only thing I believe though.

Ya I would do .25 or .5% or less. It starts to taste like suntan lotion/shampoo if there is too much. I've only made bad mixes with it. :/

What percent do you use coconut at? I've got it in a banana recipe but I can't really taste it at 7%.

If you're talking about FA coconut that's waaaaaay too much. Recommended percentage for most FA is 1-2%
