Suggestions on improving my Peanut Butter Custard?
submitted over 10 years ago by WaterFlourYeastMixologist

I like it, but I dont LOVE it. So desperately do I want to love it. I have a bunch of flavors coming in soon, including marshmallow which I was thinking of adding 1-2%.

RECIPIE

Graham Cracker Clear 2%

Peanut Butter TPA 10%

Vanilla Custard 10%

Vanilla Swirl 2%

All ingredients TFA?

First I would make adjustments to your peanut butter by using a combination of INW Peanuts, TFA Peanut Butter, and if necessary CAP or FW Peanut Butter to get the right peanut butter taste for you.

Secondly, TFA Vanilla Custard is meh at best IMPO (most I think would agree). If you want the pudding type of custard flavor, use CAP Vanilla Custard (prefer the original over V2 personally). Next, drop the Vanilla Swirl, it does nothing for you here. The Graham Cracker @ 2% is definitely a good start on adding that extra depth, but you might also want to consider a drop or two of Acetyl Pyrazine, TFA Pie Crust, FA Catalan Cream, and/or TFA Lemon.

I'll go and check my notes for the peanut butter percentages I use but a combination of CAP Peanut butter (which imo is like peanut brittle) and TFA peanut butter (very creamy but no punch of peanuts like cap) gives me a nice base to work from. Bavarian cream and nilla custard (both TFA) are all I've needed to round it off. AP I'd recommend but with CAP already having such a strong peanut flavour I don't tend to need it.

Edit: 1:5 Cap:TFA

I like TFA vanilla custard but not by itself and at such high percentage.

There's a unicorn milk recipe with

  • 3% TFA Bavarian Cream
  • 3% TFA Sweet Cream
  • 2% TFA Vanilla Custard

Its a great shake and Vape custard base.

This is close to a Milk and Honey Clone I'm vaping right now. I adapted mine from a popular one on e-liquid-recipes.com as I found Graham Cracker too much at 8%

Here's my tweaked recipe: http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/138809/Milk+and+Honey+V2+3nic

Perhaps it will be useful for you to look at. It's delicious, but it's more honey nut cheerios than a straight up peanut butter custard.

Edit - I'm not suggesting you drop your recipe and use mine btw, just thought it might be of help. My recipe uses very similar flavours at different %s. 6% Graham Cracker may still be too high but I'm enjoying it.

Edit 2 - if you do get your recipe down I'd love to try it if you don't mind sharing it.

Sounds good... Personally, I'd lower percentages a bit to start. Sometimes less is more. Maybe try something like this to start and adjust if needed...

  • Graham Cracker Clear 1%
  • Peanut Butter TPA 5%
  • Vanilla Custard 7%
  • Vanilla Swirl 1-2%

Maybe add something like FA Vienna Cream at 1% and would make sure to use CAP Vanilla Custard
