A quick copy/paste from my tasting notes. I'll try to hit a flavor every day or so. Hope you find it useful.

Past Notes:
[Note: The sample was aged/steeped for fifteen days for this tasting. At 24 hours aging the flavor was very faint and unyielding custard but possessed no off flavors. At eight days rest it tasted heavily of perfume as the vanilla flavors began to emerge.]
Mild custard with a good dose of vanilla and hint of butterscotch at the end of the inhale. Some vanilla perfume remains after 2 weeks aging but it is not harsh or chemically in nature. May (or may not) resolve and open up with further aging. Lacks the madness of Capella’s v1 and the lemon of FA Custard
Versatile. A blank canvas style custard that should blend well with most flavors and get out of the way. Minimum (non-heat) steep = 2 weeks.
All-purpose, mild vanilla custard/pudding.

Ok so I didn't want to post anything negative about it but I haven't had great results yet with the custard. It has been extremely faint and sometimes cant taste it at all. Maybe it needs more steep time. I was thinking this was going to be the end all of custards! Maybe I did something wrong or got a bad bottle because others seem to love it.
I can't speak for anyone else but I find this custard is quite good with some steeping. I still love Capella's batshit crazy v1 & FA's custard. This one should be much easier to mix with however as it's just custard without any additional notes.
Maybe some of the more experienced mixologizers can offer better insight here. Or point out anything I've missed.
Yea I absolutely love Cap V1. I haven't gotten FA custard yet because I wass deterred by the lemon notes I keep hearing about but should I still try it?
At the end of the day it's about what you can afford both time and money-wise. If I could, I'd buy every flavor made and write tasting notes until I drop dead. Sadly, I can't afford to spend that much money on flavorings.
If you're buying flavors and can spring for an extra bottle. Go for it. It's good stuff. But if you're happy with what you've got, I wouldn't sweat it overmuch.
When i placed my sampler order i asked for all Custard, i havent been too fond it of myself. It is very light tasting as is the smell. It isnt bad tasting it just isnt what im used to. VC V1 (CAP) is a custard punch to the palate and what i have come to expect from custards so my thoughts in FLV may be a bit tainted.
My nephew loves it so i gave him the 13 bottles that were left.
Sounds like I'm sticking with Capella and FA. Glad I saw this.
Actually, I quite like this custard. My tasting notes are not a review. It's what do I taste? How might I use this? And a one line summary for me to glance at if I forget what the hell I was trying to say.
All three custards have their uses. It depends on what you want for a particular mix.

I think this is a pretty good review, for not being a review. CAP Vanilla Custard v1 is kick-in-your-teeth strong, and v2 is puke-up-your-guts gross. TFA Vanilla Custard is similar profile to CAP, but not quite as good. In comparison, this is less intense and so much more authentic. I've had great results blending the two types of them together for a potent and authentic American-style vanilla custard, but I really love this stuff because it doesn't taste like chemicals or artificial flavoring at all, unlike the CAP. It's very much worth getting, so don't misinterpret his tasting notes guys.
While we are on the subject. one is missing...i have another thread on it but has anyone had diyfs vanilla custard? Wondering how it stacks up to all these.
I think I was used to Cap VC v1 and was expecting something like that. FLV is good and has its uses just a little fainter but more realistic. I have a combo of FLV and CAP steeping right now so hopefully it will be good.
