I've been working on a flavor recently, and I wanted my wife to taste it (rather than just smell it as she has) so I made up a batch of 5 minute ice cream: http://science.howstuffworks.com/innovation/edible-innovations/ice-cream3.htm
super simple to make, and uses 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract as the flavoring. I subbed ~2ml of a 0 nic batch I made, and the results were stellar. Also good if you have kids, can do a little science and the kids get ice cream they made themselves!
Obviously you can just do the whipped cream thing, but this is much more fun.
Results: http://i.imgur.com/Qbk66td.jpg - I used whole milk instead of half and half or heavy cream, and with that and the VG content it came out a little bit more ice-y than I wanted but it was still really delicious.

This makes me want to get into DIY'ing juice even more, can combine cookery, vaping and being a mad chemist. These happen to be three of my favourite things.
I tried something similar to this before and my kid told me my ice cream tasted like medicine ಠ_ಠ
Yikes. You must have done something wrong. It just tastes like fresh, creamy ice cream.
I used straight flavoring instead of adding pg/vg. This probably puts me in the 30%+ over-flavoring ice cream club
LOL
I might try it with just flavoring though. I have a couple bottles made up of just flavor mixes, like for jackster's cereal killa. So if you sub out the 1/4 tsp of vanilla with 1/4 tsp of that, shouldn't that work?
What amount of straight flavoring did you use?
So you used 2 ml of a 0 nic batch, but what was the ratio of flavoring/PG/VG in that batch? I want to try this and I want to avoid over-flavoring or under-flavoring.
>and with that and the VG content it came out a little bit more ice-y than I wanted
I assume VG might be too thick as a flavor carrier for ice cream, and might have a negative affect on the process, resulting in less smooth ice cream. I could be wrong, but someone else could probably shed more light on it.
Flavorings make great flavored drinks too, from water to alcoholic beverages. Right now im drinking a 16.9oz bottle of water with 20 drops of LA Grape and 4 drops of Sucralose. Add some powdered caffeine for a little kick.
My brother in law made eggnog ice cream with LA Eggnog, TFA Vanillin and some other things i cant remember. It was delicious. I only have a hand crank ice cream maker and bad carpel tunnel so no ice cream for me.
We should get an alternate use sub going, p2501. There are so many other uses and place to consolidate the recipes/uses would be great. The place probably exists already im just to lazy to look, hehe.
I just found this subreddit hoping to find info on this exact subject - I'm about to dive into the wonderful world of DIY e-juice, but I also own a PureFizz and was wondering if I could use the same flavoring agents to mix up my own custom soda flavors. The random online calculator I just pulled up says ~20 drops = 1mL, does that sound about right? And was that enough flavoring to make the bottle taste like a soft drink, or were you going for one of those "flavored water" style drinks with very mild/watered down flavor?
> "flavored water" style drinks with very mild/watered down flavor?
Exactly what i was going for, sometimes i just pour the flavoring in until it looks right and sometimes i meter out 20 drops per 16oz. Its really all about how much flavor you want in your drink and just like my vape i like mt water to be lightly flavored, most of the time.
