Welcome to my Canadian Nicotine Vendors review.

Why focus solely on nicotine? Because it’s easily the most difficult ingredient to get. Health Canada will refuse shipments of nicotine containing liquid at the border and send it back to the vendor if it finds any. Regardless if the strength falls under their own guidelines of 4mg/dose. Flavoring, PG and VG do not have this issue. Nicotine doesn’t always get stopped, but it’s a risk constantly hanging over our heads at the moment. That is something that I personally do not want to chance. So, although I have heard of at least one US vendor that can/will ship nicotine up here, I decided against reviewing it. Only shipments crossing international borders seem to get extra scrutiny up here. Between provinces they just don’t check. In fact, I’ve heard many stories of well packaged marijuana getting shipped around the country via Fedex, UPS or even Canada Post!

All nicotine vaped with identical single flavor TPA Banana Cream recipes @ 6mg/ml Nicotine on a Kanger ProTank3 with a fresh dual coil on an iStick 20w, which is what I vape normally. Each bottle of nicotine was also well shaken for 2 minutes prior to testing, left to set, then agitated again briefly prior to extraction.

Canvape

• Estimated Strength: 30mg/ml

• Color: Clear. Looks like water.

• Smell: Slight smell

• Taste: Not noticeable

• Throat Hit: A little bit. Some harshness too.

• Pepper: Very slight every time I pick it up after a while but does seem to fade.

• Prolonged Performance: Vaped almost exclusively at 5 or 6 mg (after adjusting to 32mg/ml) for a couple days without any ill effects. With the slight pepper this nic has, I will probably just use it for tobacco vapes, where it is apparently preferred.

• Notes:

This was the first order that came in due to how close I am to them. Also the cheapest. Conveniently, they also sell the NiKiTest kit that I needed to conduct this review. There are a large selection of flavor concentrates also available.

I first started using this as 30mg/ml strength but my first couple of mixes were a little harsh. So, figuring the 1-2mg error into account, I started using it at 32mg/ml and that seems to have solved the any harshness for the most part. Still get an occasional heavy nicotine puff when I first pick up juice made with this stuff, but it goes away fairly quickly. Due to the fact that I was completely out of nicotine, I used 30+ml before the other vendors products arrived. That meant this nic got tested far more extensively than the others prior to this write up. The large discrepancy between the listed strength and the actual strength is concerning, and has made it harder to make some recipes that have a larger percentage of flavor.

I may still order supplies from here, but I doubt I will be getting nicotine until I am sure that they have gotten in a new batch. I have had no problems whatsoever with anything else from them. Their prices on flavors is only OK but great on mods and batteries.

• Color: Clear. Slight but noticeable tan tinge.

• Smell: Definite nicotine smell. Not overpoweringly strong but noticeable.

• Taste: None noticeable

• Throat Hit: Very little unless chain vaping.

• Pepper: None.

• Prolonged Performance: Exclusively vaped a 2.8ml tank, absolutely no issues. It feels just like pre-made store bought juice. This is a nice, clean, nicotine.

• Notes:

They offer all the standard DIY supplies that most every other major Canadian vendor does as well as about 230-240 flavor concentrates. The bottle was labeled with the date of purchase so I am assuming that they bottle it when you order it.

I like their site layout, their prices are on par with canvape, but they don’t have quite the flavor concentrate selection of canvape. Of the bigger names, it’s mostly Hangsen and Flavorart. I will most definitely be placing more orders with these people. If I ever decide to start a B&M, I want to do it like these guys are.

My only complaint is their lack of 100mg/ml nicotine, and really, it’s not that bad since you can plan around your mixes by ordering vg or pg. Just be careful with VG nicotine in general – I found in my limited experience that it requires better mixing - preferably with a heat treatment above just shaking.

• Color: Clear/light Tan color. A few shades darker than Ecigsupply’s, the next darkest

• Smell: Strong, very clean and clear nicotine smell.

• Taste: None noticeable.

• Throat Hit: More throat hit than the others but not harsh. I will bump strength up to 105ml/mg though

• Pepper: None

• Prolonged Performance: Exclusively vaped a 2.8ml tank. The higher throat hit wasn’t a problem unless chain vaping for long periods and I expect that by raising the estimated strength that this problem will go away as it did with Canvape.

Seem to have a limited supply left of their current batch. We will have to see if they can get more product of the same price/quality going forward. Other than the nicotine, they have a small selection of concentrates as well as VG, PG and bottles.

Ordered from E-cigsupply.ca last, since I had only discovered the website by chance after my initial order. They are relatively close to me and it only took about 3 business days (no mail delivery on Easter Monday) to reach me. They are also the most expensive per ml, but I suspect that they are redistributing either VaporTek or Nude Nicotine. Either way, it’s good.

The also offer a large selection of mods and batteries, similarly to East Coast Vapes and Canvape. Bottles, VG and PG are all there as well.

All Ecig Solutions

http://allecigsolutions.com They offer 36mg/ml and 48mg/ml. They offer a wide range of sizes too. For 48mg/ml - 30($15), 50($30), 100($55), 500($70) and 1000ml($130). They will probably be the next place I order from. I wish I had included them in this review.

Diy-Ejuice.com

Also want to give a shout out to diy-ejuice.com. They have a large selection of most major flavor concentrate brands, and smaller selection from a few more. All their prices are great, from concentrates to bulk needle dripper bottles with childproof caps, to PG, VG, glassware and more I’m forgetting.

Final Notes

• Although I only reviewed 4 vendors, there was one more I knew of, but did not order from. Please post here if you know of others.
• Interestingly, of all the suppliers, East Coast Vape is the only one that also seems to run an actual B&M shop. According to the info I dug up, the rest appear to be home-based businesses. I could not find anything out about canvape in this regard.
• I have run out of Acid Solution for my NikiTest, but have lots of the initial reagent. I’ll have to source more to continue testing.

An additional story about ordering nicotine. I placed my first orders from canvape and did not test their (or any) nicotine previous to this review. My first order in January was two 30ml bottles of PG and VG nicotine, both at 48mg/ml advertised strength. The PG was clear and the VG was only a couple of shades darker, not very noticeable. The only problems I had was that the juice felt really ‘light’ and I was vaping like a fiend. I then ordered 2 bottles of 50/50 PG/VG @ 48mg/ml in late February. It went peppery on me within a few weeks but (due to my inexperience with pepper in general) it took me a while to realize what was going on. I ended up with a mild sinus infection that may have been made worse by vaping it long past the point I should have stopped. It had some colour, smelled a lot more than others, and made my nose burn like I was smelling pepper spray.
