I have a bunch of MBV flavorings that i havent used in a year or so. I decided to find another use for them and after some thinking, and being tired of spending money on plugins, i decided to trial some on the air filter in the furnace. A few drops on the filter and the house now smells of strawberries and the wife can stop buying Glade Plugins.
Ive now used the flavorings in beverages (milk, water, soda, coffee, tea), yogurt, baking and making the house smell great.
I needed a purpose for all my over a year old mbv flavors. I was just going to offer them up to someone, this is a good idea.
I was going to give them all away too but i figured why not find other purposes. My wife hates black licorice, next time we get into an argument i know what ill be using that for.
Make some candy.
I forgot that one in my list tho i pretty much only use LA flavorings for that, guess i could try with some of the MBV flavorings too.
To piggyback off this can you use these in homebrewing? And if so how much would anyone recommend
Give them a shot in finished beer. Start with 8 oz beer and add one drop flavor. Taste and repeat drops as needed. Guava Helles -- just sayin'.
I would stick to post-fermentation flavoring in the name of safety.
Edit: Vodka!
That's awesome, I might have to try some of those.
I added a couple drops of LA Banana Cream to a tub of frosting. Gf and I smeared it on some white cake. It was delicious. Gonna have to try the furnace suggestion now.
Great idea, ive used other flavorings for this but not Banana Cream. I have almost 16oz of the colorless so i think ill give this a try. Thanks!
