Unicorn Milk Clone Update.
submitted over 10 years ago by DrMclovensThe Mad Alchemist

I will start by saying, please leave your opinion as to if you want updates on this or not, i understand if not i can keep to myself until i'm done. will go by general consensus

Did a lot of smelling on Sat. and a lot of tasting on Sunday, after extensive taste testing sessions I will be mixing my first batch tomorrow probably (as long as i have time after work :)

right now i'm not going to try any meringue as i just haven't tasted it. however i am open to the idea,

i do taste cheesecake, strawberry, a form of custard (probably vanilla) and some more bakeryish taste. almost like a danish...i have a few ideas on this though.

also taste a very slight nutty undertone, i will first be playing with graham cracker to see if the interaction of it gives me that same taste, if not, i will probably try hazelnut.

also am tasting strong cream, i think it has both TFA strawberry ripe AND straw cream in it.

there are a few other things i will be playing with, but this is just the beginning ;)

Edit: I'm also having an internal battle as to if there is Banana or not. batch testing will answer this i believe. definitely dont think it is Banana ripe, as it would be much more obvious i believe, will try low %'gs of banana cream TFA to start with

EDIT number2. After a long day of not smelling or vaping the stuff, i finally went back to smelling just now, in hopes of recieving the sense of that familiar pasty, milky but not milky, ever so slightly cheese smell/taste. and AH!...of course... i'm smelling that stale-ish smelling Bavarian cream. its so obvious now, but before the cheesecake strawberry smell was just overpowering it

As someone who just got into the DIY game, it is awesome to see the process that one must go through to create these juices. Please, keep the updates coming.

same here. i'm just sitting here trying to find the right percentages for one flavor and these guys are mixing multiple flavors trying to make clones.

Hey, once you get that down pat tho, making more complex juices will be easier. :)

You mention hazelnut and creamy undertones. I know FlavorWest is likely the last vendor some companies would use, but FW Hazelnut is like a creamy hazelnut flavor that might play well in this for a clone if your suspicion of TFA Straw Ripe and Straw Cream doesn't work out.

Can't wait to see how this one pans out. Unicorn Milk is simply too expensive for me to justify the purchase ever since I moved to DIY.

AGREED! i don't mind dropping the cash to clone it though #Smart Investing!

lol but i will actually take that into serious consideration, thank you for the add on mate!

Could also be Acetylpyrazine no? Especially if it's a slight undertone.

why did my reddit not notify me of this...im glad i saw it >.>

but seriously, good one man. i will definitely give it a go if i have trouble finding it.

although i try (try being used in the slightest way possible lol) to stay away from acetyl but shit...its a hard game to play.

Acetyl pyrazine isn't like diacetyl or acetoin, which it sounds like you might be confusing it with. It can add a nutty note to things, but better known for adding that "crunchy" note of cereal flavors.

You didn't get a notification because I replied to /u/ThrownOut2013, but I'm glad you saw it as well. I'm a newb with this stuff, but I bought like 50 bottles of flavor and I've been working on improving my palette. This is hard stuff. You can't rely on smell, and the waiting, omg the waiting. It's killer...

Absolutely. That's another place where it could be coming from. Good catch man.

Have you done some shot glass tasting? I add a liberal amount of juice to water in a small disposable cup and swish it around. I also swallow a bit of it. Gotta be thorough.

You might look into Hangsen Italian Cream. It is delicious, but has a kind of cheesy thing going on a little bit.

Does anyone know how Unicorn Milk compares to Cottontail Cream? I'm currently working towards a cottontail cream clone and if they're really similar my findings might help towards this.

Unfamiliar with it :\

Lost Art Liquids - Cottontail Cream. It's my favorite "premium" juice out of all I've tried. They have a "Space Rocks" that is very good too. I don't even know where to start in cloning that one, but as my flavor stockpile grows, I think it will come.

If you try cottontail cream, let me know what you think. I've blown many hundreds of dollars on it, and my DIY endgame is to successfully clone it and tweak it to something better.

I'm in the same boat, I absolutely love cottontail cream! My friend who tried it said it was exactly like unicorn milk, so I tried some from the LVS and hated it. So while they may be similar flavor targets I don't think they're similar at all.

I've only had cottontail cream in 18 mg in a kanger ProTank, unicorn milk I've tried in everything from 12 to three, Nautilus to dripping. Unicorn milk is my favorite juice out there. I'm very excited to see what OPs clone recipe is going to be. I'm already planning on making several other clone recipes I've found around the web. If you haven't tried unicorn milk I say pick up a bottle and give it a vape. It's delicious. Tough to say the differences because of the 18mg in a not great tank, but cottontail is good, I just prefer unicorn milk.

Have you thought to try Bavarian cream, sweet cream, strawberry ripe, cake batter, hazelnut and/or acetyl pyrazine? I haven't mixed anything up, but off a hunch dripped some mothers milk and grandmaster (clone recipies) and it came close. If it wasn't for the caramel and vanilla, I'd say something with those ingredients might come very close to being a clone for UM.

We have an opportunity to make our own flavors and here we are trying to copy someone that has invested so much time making this great flavor called "unicorn milk". Please, try making your own flavors or something better, why try to make something that we will never figure out. You will not get there. Make your own flavors and call it what you like. Then make money on it by selling it.
