I'm a big fan of TFA Kettle Corn, but it's a pretty weak flavor. I think it's best at 8%-12%, depending on if you're mixing it with other stuff or by itself. Anything over 12% and it gets a slight Fritos aftertaste, but anything under 8% and it's barely noticeable (and it doesn't really come out more with steeping. Pretty much "what you taste is what you get" kind of flavor.)
I've got a recipe I'm dialing in that I call "Midway" based on TFA Kettle Corn: kind of tastes like the flavor/aromas of a county fair (minus the sweat and "dumpster that's been left in the hot sun all day" notes ;) .) Alternately I might call it "Grandma's Christmas Balls", because it also kinda reminds me of those popcorn balls you can get around around the holidays. Also because that name is hilarious to me for some reason.
Once I get the recipe a little more tweaked (it's close though), I'll post it. The overall flavor profile is there, I'm just tweaking a few things.
I almost picked up some of that Flue Cured Tobacco. Why oh why didn't I go with my gut and pick it up? I don't know. I do know, however, a few more flavors that will be in the ol' shopping cart this next time around.
Thank you for taking the time to do this!
Your views on a lot of the flavors regards FA are very similar to mine. It seems this board has gotten on an FLV hype train, and, after noticing reddit's tendency to hype things (VapeWild & MBV come to mind), I'm a bit wary of jumping onto something. Where I was going to buy their entire line (FLV), I'll more than likely follow your recommendations.
As an aside, you noted that FLV Blueberry was inferior to FA Bilberry. While I agree that FA Bilberry, standalone, is without a doubt one of the greatest blueberry flavors, when mixed with just about anything (and after a couple of days of steeping) it loses nearly all of its flavor. Have you tried mixing FLV Blueberry with anything? If so, what was the outcome?
