Recently I whipped up a batch of Nana' cream that seems to be such a huge rave here. Honestly I thought it was going to be like a banana custard type deal.. it's more like banana/strawberry with dragonfruit?
It's not horrible but I feel like i'm messing the hype behind this juice... The citric acid is coming today so I will add that in about 45-1 hour once it gets here. Does the citric acid help THAT much?
What's everyones opinions on it?? It seems to have this huge following. Not saying it's bad or anything by any standard, it's definitely good.. I was just expecting something that was going to make my taste buds explode in some taste-gasm type deal.
I do like the yellow collor of it though.. Looks pretty ridiculous!
Interestingly enough, it should be noted that the recipes you guys are using are what the creators' taste in the flavor. They are not my recipes, far from it. Flavor is good tho.

Yeah, you can't go into Nana Cream expecting it to be a banana cream. It is a misnomer, something even bombies apparently admits to.
Yeah i was definitely expecting more of a cream. I'm not upset with how it turned out, especially having not tried the real deal before. Will definitely be vaping fizzmustards recipe for a while. Then I'll buy a bottle from bombies and see how close it is.

Yeah that's what I keep hearing. I took a gamble on it and that recipe was what really inspired me to start making my own juice, also the whole "it's way cheaper" factor. But from all the hype surrounding the flavor and also "knowing" what was going into the clone it seemed like something I'd enjoy, and damn do I enjoy it. So happy I've made the switch to diy. I'm going to put a second order in soon to expand my flavors, mostly creams and a few different fruits so I can make some honey peary clones and cereal clones. Maybe some hobbes blood, definitely a unicorn milk clone. But the nana cream will certainly do for now. I actually just mixed up a hundred mls of it earlier today, fifty to vape on and fifty to let steep for like a month.
I liked Nana Cream well enough, but their Agent P was an all dayer for me for awhile. It was like a strawberry with a weird yogurt kind of tang.
Why were you surprised it tasted like strawberry, dragonfruit and bananas when those were the ingredients in the mix?
Wasn't surprised as much as just confused by the name not equally the taste at all.
For some odd reason I thought all the ingredients would somehow form a banana+Cap custard taste.
It's not bad! Just reminds me more of like a banana runt with some strawberry kick.
I love the clone, and I love the juice. The citric acid is very important, in my opinion, though it does not change the fundamental character of the clone.
You're right, though, that there's no "custard" flavor to be had. It's more strawberry than banana.
I still buy 'nana cream, both out of appreciation for Bombies and their excellent business, and because my version of the clone is tailored more to my liking. I do think the straight clone is very similar to the original.
If you're looking for a similar flavor profile with more banana, try Lenola cream.
I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon so to speak, but I mixed up a batch of fizzmustard's version. Followed the recipe to a T. After a 10 day steep I tasted it and, admittedly, I was kind of excited to finally see what all the hype was about. I have never tasted the real Bombies and while this mix was good I wasn't exactly blown away. I wasn't disappointed either but I guess I got my hopes up too high.
I made a Banana Cream a while ago. I thought it turned out pretty good but I haven't made it since, and this was only the first iteration of it. But if you have the ingredients try it out (I haven't tried the nana cream clone from fizzmustard to know what it tastes like)

I added it to this recipe to give some sort of background of a banana's foster creamy something. I really need to make this recipe again now that I have my scale (was a PITA to mix this by volume and I know I didn't get it exact) and see what needs further tweaking.
The citric acid i have found gunks up my coils rather quickly, however it does add a nice twangy mouthfeel if you like. I also knocked up a batch of nana cream clone as it had such a great reception, i quite like it although its a little subtle i can tell you from my few weeks of trying it in varying degrees of the airing and warm water bathings its had 100% what i get from it is FRUIT SALAD SWEETS!!! I used to love them when i was a kid so a nice throwback flavour for me.
/u/fizzmustard's version has grown on me. My first impression wasn't great, but not bad. After letting it sit for a while, I found myself reaching for it more often. It's a solid recipe, although I don't use the citric acid component.
I don't get the hype about it either, but I've come around on the flavor. Not my favorite or an ADV - but I enjoy it. If you don't like it now, give it a week or two on the shelf, and come back to it. Your expectations will have changed, and you could be surprised.
I have mixed up this mix and after a month on the shelf I really enjoy this recipe. It only gets better over time in my opinion. I will continue to mix batches of this flavorful liquid. I find that not many juices are very good in their green state. Steeping is a critical part of creating a fine product.
I do think that the citric acid makes a huge difference. It's not that the flavor changes drastically, just that you can taste the fruits better. And it does take a few days of steeping to really work itself out.
I made up some with Capella's Sweet Strawberry this last time 'cause I don't have any more TFA Strawberry. It came out extra awesome, but not quite like the original. It also didn't need as much CA as fizz's recipe.
I wanted to try the original Bombies nana cream before making Fizzmustard's recipe. So far I'm not too impressed with the original Nana cream. To me it tastes like sour belt candies that you buy at 7-11. I've been vaping the original nana cream for a week now and I cant seem to taste the banana or the strawberries. Maybe I'll have to chalk this juice as a dud. I'm dissapointed.
