So I'm planning in making the fizzmustard nana cream clone. I've found almost every single flavor I need from e-dym.pl but they are missing the strawberry. The only offer Strawberry ripe tpa.
My question is : are these two flavors comparable? Can I use ripe with maybe a different percentage? And if not, can anybody suggest me a Europe based online shop that offers the casual Strawberry? Thanks
The taste will be totally different. i used Strawberry ripe before i got Strawberry delivered. it taste good. but when i got my Strawberry and mixed it, i was blown away.
edit: ^ this I'm referring to fizzmustard nana cream. but for Strawberry ripe, i used alot of it in other recipes. love it.
I've used both. Strawberry ripe has been to flowery/perfume-y for me. Maybe I'm using too much, I REALLY like regular strawberry though. At around 6% it sings!
That's really odd, I find regular Strawberry too flowery/perfume-y and Strawberry Ripe much nicer. I usually use a 50/50 blend of regular and ripe just to use up what's left of the regular.
ripe strawberry is like a strawberry with sugar on it and strawberry is like a ripe strawberry. the naming is weird but thats my take on it
The way I would describe it would be Strawberry is like Strawberry Fanta and Strawberry Ripe is like actual strawberries (not saying either one is better than the other).
Agreed. Ripe strawberry has the, for lack of better terms, "ripened" strawberry flavor. Like one that's slightly soft, bright red and juicy. And regular Strawberry TFA lacks that component, and is much more "candy" strawberry (not like the little strawberry candies so much). Fanta is a good comparison.
TPA Strawberry is available at 123liquids.de for 3,69€/10ml + shipping
i seriously dont understand why people use these sites, even if you just want to try something, tfa offers 4 oz bottles for maybe a couple dollars more. doesn't make sense to me. i always stick to the orginal manufacturer's sites, saves you a lot.
as a quick helper: notice the (dot).de? the OP and the producer of this post are probably in europe as the OP listed a polish(?) site. Dont know if TFA ships internationally for retail but if they do I would imagine shipping would cancel out your proposed savings.
Exactly. Tpa unfortunately does not ship outside of the US so we Europeans are mostly on our own. Many vendors and online ships ask for crazy money (5 bucks for 10ml each flavor in my country) . The cheapest on in Europe seems to be this polish site. I've heard great things about them and their Europe wide shipping is only 6 euros. Wish tpa had worldwide shipping.
You can use the ripe but it will be a different vape. The TFA strawberry is a pretty important part of this recipe and is the standout flavour to me.
Strawberry ripe has a more realistic strawberry flavour, at higher percentages it takes on a slightly cooked note, higher than that it has some over-ripe/rotten notes. It's a 'round' flavour. This flavour seems to work better in cakey type recipes.
Regular TFA strawberry has a more candy/synthetic type flavour. It's a 'sharper' flavour. This flavour seems to work better in fruity type recipes.
I'd use it. And I'd get a big bottle of the Strawberry Ripe too. It's used in a lot of strawberry recipes, and it's pretty damn good.
Would using both give a more detailed strawberry flavor?
According to my palate, nope. Ripe has somewhat of a dry/powdery finish and lacks tartness/pop... it reminds me of strawberry pixy stix. Regular strawberry tastes more or less the same as far as flavor goes, but has the fruity succulent "pop" without the powdery finish.
Amending fizz's recipe a bit, try mixing them with the Ripe Strawberry in smaller percentage than the Strawberry. You might be pleased by the results! I was :)
I don't have TFA Strawberry but I do have LorAnn Strawberry and JF Strawberry. How does the LorAnn compare to TFA? I made a batch using LA and it was pretty good but I'm curious how similar it is to the actual recipe.
The JF Strawberry has a really weird flavour to it which I don't like at all. I'm thinking possibly adding a drop or two into a strawberry mix might be good?
Hows the vape game in Poland? Didn't know pl was into the vape scene
I'm not from Poland so I don't really know how the vaping scene is going there. This eshop tho is fantastic for flavourings and other vaping stuff, it has I think the cheapest price for tpa flavors you can find here in Europe and they also have 6euro Europe wide usps shipping. Fantastic guys over there.
