I've been looking for like 3 hours.. I know there are a few different variations. What seems to be the most popular though?

This is the end-all custard for me personally, been making it for months. But it should be noted he has since come up with a new version of the recipe. Haven't tried it yet, but I can't imagine how anything could be better than the version you linked. So damn good.

Currently the recipes here aren't rated by popularity unfortunately. You can really only judge by seeing the comments. At least for now.

maybe /u/daath 's g vanilla custardy II. It is a good vanilla custard, and there is a lot of love for it here.

It's another GVC clone, and even though it isn't that ...spectacular - it's been my go-to ADV for more than a year :)

Beware though - it does need two weeks of steeping. I always have 60-100 ml of it steeping :D

There are many great Vanilla Custard recipes floating around here and elsewhere, but here's my simple recipe if interested...

CAP Vanilla Custard V2 @ 10% (CAP Vanilla Custard V1 if you don't worry about diacetyl, etc...)
TFA French Vanilla @ 2%
TFA Malted Milk @ 1%
TFA Orange Cream @ 0.5%

I'm currently using V2 but it seems everyone is saying V1 is better. I had health concerns so I went with the v2. Have you tried both? What are your thoughts?

I've tried both, but don't think V2 tastes any less better than V1. There is definitely a difference, but they're both good imho

Cap v1- 7.5-15%

Dulce De Leche- 2%

Optional- 1-2% Em

Has been the easiest and tastiest custard i've found.

It's kind of like a sweetner.
