for my wallet -.-
Every time I come back here, I'm seeing a new flavor that I might like, a flavor that I might have missed, or a new vendor (Flavorah) that I would like to try out. Well shit!
(ノಠдಠ)ノ︵┻━┻
I have eviscerated my wallet in the time I've been in this subreddit. I have a to-buy list as long as my to-mix list, active shopping carts at 3 different sites, and about a week of juice steeping... My wife... I forget her name, but she doesn't know how much I haven't saved.

Choked on my vape reading that.. lol
"if I buy 35 bucks more, I'll save 10 on shipping..."
nbsp;
"Damn, I forgot ___. I'll snag a bottle real quick..."
d.c. al fine
Can't tell you how many times that free shipping has resulted in me buying twice what I went in for [shakes fist at sky]. Luckily I have a couple buddies who are starting DIY so we have been combining orders lately, which has helped a ton.
I came into DIY with the mindset I was going to save alot of money from having to buy juice. Boy was i wrong. lol. There is always that elusive flavor that has to be had and I am sure the mailman has got to be thinking I have a problem.
My mailman definitely thinks I'm doing something weird, probably because I answered the door with my nitrile gloves and respiratory mask on various occasions.
I'm new to DIY so pardon if this is a dumb q. What's the respirator for? Nicotine?
It's a precaution and I work with 100mg nicotine. Without the respirator, I can definitely smell the nicotine when I'm working with it and makes me a bit nauseous sometimes. Plus, I don't want to take any chances when working with such a high dosage of nicotine.
I feel you. I have a vape budget that I use monthly and I feel I hit it way too soon because I frequent the DIY forums too much. I don't even buy gear anymore, just flavors. Call me Betty fuckin' Crocker. As of lately though I sell enough juice to break even. I feel like a junkie who sells enough drugs to support his own habit.
I completely understand your pain.
Thankfully my wife vapes as well and enjoys the fruits of my DIY labor. We still spend less than half on our ecig DIY hobby than we ever did on our cigarette habit so we (okay I) use this reasoning to justify spending what I do. I allow myself a budget every month to spend on our hobby and have stuck to it. Thankfully the next month is just around the corner so I can invest in some Flavorah and maybe some Medicine Flower flavors as well.
The only drawback though is, ever since I got into DIY I haven't paid attention to any new mods, tanks, RDA's and the like. My wife and I both have a mech mod and an Infinite CLT2, we both have a 4 port battery charger and a ton of 18650 batteries. I heard about the Kanger Subtank and about 50 and 100 watt box mods and as much as I'd like to try these out... I'd rather use my alotted budget buying and restocking flavors.
I have no idea how people aren't save money. I've saved tons, my costs are nothing!
(the key to this is to note that the flavours we use are technically food additives, which means that they can be filed under the food budget and not the entertainment budget.)
i decided to get into diy to save money by making the nana cream clone. all my flavors are coming in today. i think i ordered about 40 flavors, thats 37 more than the clone recipe needs..oops.
i should also say that i was never one to try all the latest flavors. i stuck with my adv for over a year and picked up a cheap bottle of something different from mbv every now and again. looking at all these recipes, now i want more more more!
I did that too. And actually, there are some flavors that I have that I'm pretty sure I will NEVER use. Thinking about weeding through it and offering them up soon. Not yet, so don't send me messages. But when I get around to it, I'll be cleaning out my stuff.
I have two flavors that I hate so much (a coffee flavor and a Ry flavor) that they are double-bagged and in the garage.
Yea, I also have some flavors that I will most likely never use again. Two coffee flavors, black tea, couple of creams, and the list goes on.
Haha this is for sure. I quit smoking to save money and better my health. Health/lungs improved but spending on eJuice/hardware was more than smoking. I then quit buying eJuice (with a few exceptions) thinking it would save on my wallet. NOPE just sitting here with a ever growing collection of flavors. I think there is a point where it levels out (i.e. you find your favorite ADV's and just buy the ingredients for that). I took the plunge for the Flavorah sample back because of some of the reviews here by the mods and others... with a little luck spending will stabilize in time. Note to all people just starting, this is an expensive hobby up front. Buy quality ingredients, do a lot of research and invest in yourself and it will pay off in the end!
