e-liquid-recipes.com can now show you the cost of a recipe!
Set the volume and price of your PG, VG, Nicotine and Water/Vodka/PGA - this is done on the "Update profile"-page.
Go through your stash, and be sure to have amount and cost on each of your flavorings. You can also set these values on the flavor details page, if the flavor is in your stash.
ELR can then give you a price for your recipes. If the price has a small question-mark beside it, it means that one of the flavorings is missing volume/pricing information in your stash.
I hope you'll find it useful! I was a bit surprised at how little some of my mixes actually cost me to make ;)
EDIT: I also added a "Max VG"-option (checkbox) for recipes.
Also: There are two give-aways active on ELR until sunday - one for EU and one for USA/Canada - Check it out, and maybe win some DIY-stuff :-)
Thanks for all you've done for the community!
Straying away from the topic a bit, but I've been meaning to ask this for a while. I use max VG for a lot of my recipes. A lot of those recipes end up with .5% or .3% away from a whole number. Using ELR, it basically tells you something's wrong with the ratio and the PG must be a whole number. Obviously, I can just ignore the .whatever% added PG, but....it's one of those things that have been very slightly annoying me. Any tips other than just ignoring it?
I'm glad you find it useful.
I've no tip for you regarding max VG. I will fix it at some point though! But for now, you just have to ignore the small PG-part...
little late to this thread but i have a suggestion for the website you could take into consideration. havent thought it out very much but itd be cool if when people are making a recipe that gets posted if there is like a check box or something that will inform people if it is a practice recipe or if it is a tested finished recipe. and then a way to sort that from the main page. maybe would create a atmosphere where people could go into the practice section and make more suggestions instead of thinking it is a finished recipe. let me know what ya think!
Wow, this tool gets more impressive every day! I don't have a ton of flavors or recipes yet, but I definitely want to start it up now so I don't have to put in a ton of data once I do need it. Appreciate the hard work, hope you get at least a little compensation from it.
First, ELR is awesome, so keep on keeping on.
Is there a way to change overall flavor percentage? For example, I want to keep my flavor ratios, just change the total % for final mixing. I know,I can make a base, then create a new recipe to use as an adjustment, but....yeah...
Also, if you could include a versioning tool, that would be awesome as well... Make a v2, 3, 4, etc. Then if I notice that v3 was what I was looking for, I can go to 3.1, 3.2, etc until I narrow down my recipe...
Just some thoughts to improve (in my mind) an already awesome tool. Thanks!
Not at the moment, but I talk about it on the ELR guide on Wikivapia, under Creating a flavor base - maybe you can do it like that? :)
I'll keep thinking about how to implement total %-adjustment...
That's great! How about an option to mark a recipe as "shake 'n vape"? Sometimes you need a juice right away and it would be perfect to be able to look up a decent recipe that is good after just a violent shake :)
Or, if just recommended steeping time was included below the recipe, and when people comment they can add what they think in order to get an average steeping time. Just like how you can see the median, average, minimum and maximum use of each flavor when you look up a specific flavor
I'll think about it - Normally I'd just leave the steeping instructions in the comments, but I see what you mean!
Yeah man it's not the most necessary function, but steeping is kind of a vital part of some recipes so I feel that it should be a bit more integrated with the recipe :) And it would sure be nice to be able to scroll through a nice list of shake 'n vape's. And by the way thanks for everything you do. Mixing wouldn't this easy and smooth for beginners like me if it wasn't for you.
Oh and another suggestion - this one is pretty banal and definitely not a necessity, but it would make things just a liiitle bit smoother: how about a box that you can tick next to the VG/PG when you edit or create a recipe, that puts them together for those that have a premixed solution? That way you'd see directly how much of that premix to add instead of adding the numbers for VG and PG. Again, this is some trivial shit but when you're mixing juices and got sticky hands (so you can't use a calculator) it'd be kinda nice to have this :) You could always do the numbers in your head but I tend to mess that up sometimes - especially when I mix larger quantities.
I'm just starting out and really digging ELR! Are there any plans to let one export all their recipes in one shot - like a backup? CSV would be nice for importing into other things later as needed. Or maybe that feature is there, and I couldn't find it.
I like to keep data on projects all in one place, and then back up to other sources so I'm not hosed if something crazy happens. :)
Sorry if I'm being daft but is there a way to "friend" someone or to like their profile so you can come back and easily view their recipes?
Is this a good place to make a suggestion for a feature I'd like on the site?
You can also shoot me a message on ELR - use the feedback form on "My page" - or use the forum on General / Feedback or a PM :)
Ok, cool. In the future, I'll use one of those. For now tho, I was just thinking it'd be nice if the feature that finds what I can make with what I have also had an option to return recipes where I'm only missing an ingredient or two. Right now, my inventory will allow me to make 89 recipes exactly, but I know there are many other recipes I could make with a simple substitution/omission or two. Webtender.com has that feature, and it is extremely useful. I feel it would apply equally here.
But even if that isn't something you could implement, what a wonderfully useful website you have! Thanks!
ELR is really shaping up nicely. Great work, daath.
I have a question about calculating the PG/VG/Water percentages. Currently, my attempt to make an 15/80/5 mix will only register as 20/80/5. Am I missing something?
