I've spent a lot of time reading the sidebar, various posts, answers to questions that were already asked and answered in the sidebar (but sometimes extra nuggets happen, and at my age repetition doesn't hurt anyway) and generally learning a crapton of stuff from this forum. I also spent one night laughing so hard at one particular thread I almost herniated trying not to wake up the wife.
I had planned to study a little more, but then the Flavorah promotion started, and after the first reviews were in, I decided it was time to begin gathering materials. When Nude got their nicotine back in stock, I knew it was go time. I ordered the last of my gear today, and look forward to my newest hobby.
To all the folks that share their expertise and acquired experience here for nothing I just want you to know that for every ingrate or entitled person you may have to deal with, there might be twenty people lurking and soaking up your data. You are appreciated. You're fucking awesome.
I also reflect your sentiment. (Apparently this is the n00b thanks thread, and it's my turn...) I quickly started learning from here, and am always learning more. Its thanks to some of the guys on here that go out of their way to help, leading me to try to do the same. I love DIY, and hopefully my wife doesn't catch on to how much money I really haven't saved. :)
I just confessed to the expense to the wife on the way home. So far, no violence just a little frown, hehe
The upfront cost can be a bit but considering I smoked a pack a day and probably spent 150 bucks a month on cigs; well I think I am ahead atm. I try to limit my diy budget to less than 50 bucks a month and so far I've done good these last 2 months. Their is always that elusive flavor that a recipe needs though and I feel bad only ordering that single flavor.... So I kinda end up overdoing it sometimes ;)
And we appreciate you.
Please report back on both your NN and your FLV orders -- the more people share, the more the searchbar works for future newbs.
Also, never hesitate to ask a question based on information you think is lacking. Mods do update the sidebar and the wiki, and if there's lacking info, we can all push the mods to update more!
Yeah, can we fix Reddit search? That would be greeeeeeaaaaat...
I believe the correct way to search reddit is to click "submit new content", type in your vaguest search terms, and click "submit post" and wait a day before trying it again, exactly lolol

Thank you for doing your research! We were all noobs at this at one time, and I myself learned a ton from this forum before I asked too many questions - and long before I helped mod. We want this to be a great resource for new mixers, but it seems we just keep getting inundated with people who expect others to do their homework for them. I really appreciate that you used the resources provided and acknowledged their value to you in starting out. It makes it worth the time we've invested in building them.
FWIW - DIY may be the big money pit of vaping. I keep a database of the flavorings I own; the current total is 272. Many of these are 8mls, but there's also a couple dozen that I have 4oz or more. I've got a couple grand in this hobby - easily. Be careful you don't get sucked in. The best way to do this would be pick one or two recipes that sound appealing and just get the flavors for those. The worst way is to do what I do: go to Wizard, Capella, Flavorah, etc, and scroll through the list thinking "ooh, I don't have that one; better get it".
Welcome to our world, and after you've got some experience under your belt please try to help those new to the field - with extra help to those who have done their homework!
While I was reading all the resources it occurred to me holy crap look at all the work people put into this. I look forward to the day I actually have something to contribute. as far as it being a money sink I knew the job was dangerous when I took it.😁
I'm really enjoying the hallmark feelings around here, but I just realized this place is going to start getting really crowded. Within the next year, this might be one of a few hubs of juice making knowledge. I say this as the influx of people is going to be massive if commercial eliquid is made illegal.
I have been DIY'ing for a little over 6 months myself and I still am learning alot. Will be glad to see you join us in the world of DIY and if I can be of any help (Even though I know so little) let me know. Feel free to add any new recipes you make on your own to the monthly recipe post as well. The more people active here is a good thing IMO. Take care and good luck on the adventure of DIY; Just know it's a neverending road lol.
I'm not going to lie, I'm a little giddy. But I'm going to stick with known recipes or simple stuff to start with. I'd like to get a solid understanding of what works and why before I get crazy with the cheese whiz.
Understandable for sure. Don't feel bad when you start experimenting and you come up with a great idea only to realize you recreated burned popcorn juice lol. I have had good and bad experiments equally so far. Some I take back to the drawing board and others I ditch forever.
What flavors did you end up going with (Just Flavorah?) I am still experimenting with their flavors myself but so far I am liking pink guava and the strawberry. I usually mix 15-20 test juices and force myself not to mix anymore until they are vaped and noted properly. Next weekend I plan on doing quite a few flavorah tests.
Just the fruit and the savory multipacks. I'm sad now because I love guava and grapefruit, but there's always next time. I figure it's plenty to start with.
I ordered from flavorah again and took advantage of their 2for1 pack special so I could stock up on the flavors I like before they stop the promo. I got an extra pink guava that I could send you once the package gets here. let me know if your interested.
Sharing is caring- or some such thing. The truth is- We built this place with individual experiences and failures. Those individual experiences create a net positive for everyone. Private recipes are cool and all, and people ripping off stuff to sell is pretty shitty, but recipes have been getting better here as more new people post new recipes they try. I've been bad about it too, so I'm going to make an effort to change that next month with the recipe sticky and post most of my efforts.
