We all know that Hawk Sauce is one of those flavors that no one can seem to pinpoint the exact recipe. Some have suggested it's simply sweet tarts an menthol, but if we're taking Mt. Baker Vapor's word for it, then we know that there is no menthol in it. Mt. Baker has said that it tastes like menthol because of the "alcohol" flavoring they use. This statement has sparked debate as to wether they're talking about an alcohol inspired flavor (such as Mojito) or a flavor that contains alcohol (such as Razzleberry from FW).
I have been attempting several clones on and off throughout the past few months with very little success. My current recipe looks something like this:
7% Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy CAP
7% Raspberry Sweet TFA
4% Sweet and Tart TFA
3% Koolada
1% Watermelon Candy TFA
1% Blueberry Extra TFA
1% Blackberry TFA
These percentages are based off of memory since I am not near my laptop at the moment. I haven't had Hawk Sauce in a while, but this recipe seems to be kinda sorta maybe close to ballpark range. If anything, it's a starting point. There are several flavors I would like to use with this recipe that I currently don't have:
Blue Raspberry Slush OSDIYS
Blackberry Mojito FW
Red licorice FW
Razzleberry FW
Jungle Juice FW
I am wondering if anybody has these flavors and has had any success using them in a Hawk Sauce clone or if you have made a Hawk Sauce clone using flavors I have not listed.
Any recipes/comments/suggestions would be highly valued.
Why would you go through the trouble of trying to clone it when you can get it directly from the source at such a great price?
The challenge! It's a flavor that I love and I will always buy it from MVB as long as you sell it. But if for whatever reason I can't buy it from you anymore, I'll be able to make my own forever. Hopefully that will never happen.
Just my two cents but- FW Jungle Juice, Absinthe, and CAP harvest berries. I haven't tried to make a direct clone, but I tasted all 3(or something akin to each) when I tried hawk sauce some time ago-
This seems like the best choice if I was trying to clone Hawk Sauce. It's pretty much what I recommended to that one guy who didn't wanna learn to DIY when he posted here earlier today.
I would suggest buying Thawed Sauce, which is Hawk Sauce minus the menthol.. Might help pin down the flavors without having the menthol.
i'm fairly confident there's no jungle juice in hawk sauce. it is, however, the main (perhaps only) ingredient in thug juice.
Someone said:
19% jungle juice
1% menthol
Is pretty much exactly Thug Juice
Why spend time worrying about making a clone, when you can get the flavoring directly from Mt. Baker? http://www.mtbakervapor.com/sale-juice/hawk-sauce-electronic-cigarette-flavoring/
It ruins the fun out of trying to figure out the recipe. It's also more expensive to buy the flavor concentrate than if I were to use FW/TFA ingredients
Oh absolutely. I'd love to peg down the actual recipe, or have a clone hit close enough to call it good. The MBV flavoring is nice for a cheater bottle, that's how I consider it anyways, but actually knowing how to do it on my own would be the best.
Unfortunately, OP, I don't have very many of the flavors you listed in your recipe up there. Believe me, I'd love to try. Gotta wait a minute between orders or the missus jumps on me.
Exactly who cares? Its allready cheap why waste youre time trying to clone a cheap recipe that is basicaly pennies on the dollar for the original. why not make a BETTER hawk sauce.
Hey let's all be a cunt shall we?
Go shit on someone else's parade.
Seriously is it that hard to come up with youre own version of the juice youre looking for. Whats the point of DIY if your constantly trying to clone other peoples stuff. Sure I find something I like and try to aim close to it but seriously why go threw all the trouble when the guy at mt baker is giving you the raw flavor right from the git go. Like i said its dirt cheap to buy hes practicaly giving it away.
Edit: not trying to be rude im just saying. Hawk sauce is simple to buy as is and almost as cheap as DIY. Lets clone something a little more complex how about that.
If memory servers correct, I recall reading that MBV uses Flavor West exclusively. If someone could confirm, that would narrow the scope quite a bit.
