submitted over 10 years ago by djdamondo

Looking to free myself from syringes and more accurate and consistent mixes. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here's a link to one that a lot of us use. The LB-501 link

Yup, I use that one. Screen stays on long enough to switch ingredients, good price.

I ordered 2 of those and both came DoA. I went with http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ME8VI34/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and seems to be working well.

I should have stated that my mixes range from 30ml up to 400ml batches.

There's a 1000 and 3000 gram unit that are cheaper. Any difference on the models save for higher weight capacity?

Yes, lower resolution:

  • 500g by 0.01g

  • 1000g by 0.1g

  • 5000g by 1g

Glad it was useful - scales are a product where almost every feature has a direct tradeoff - max. weight is inversely proportionate to accuracy and resolution. Also just because a scale says its resolution is 0.01g, it does not mean that it is accurate to ±0.01g. I have an AWS Gemini-20 which is "20g by 0.001g" but it can be off by 0.002g to 0.01g depending on what percentage of its 20g max I am massing.

I ended up with four balances to cover my spread of accuracy/overall mass requirements - a fairly accurate, good quality balance is a steal at $33 IMO.

I was just about to make a thread about the same topic

From what I've researched so far, you'll need a scale that can measure to 0.01g, have the tear function and have an auto shut off timer > 5 minutes

Now what I'm a bit confused about and could use some clarification on is approximately how much does 1ml of PG/VG/Nic/Flavouring weigh?

Using the Ejuicemeup calculator it appears 1ml of anything (PG/VG/Nic/Flavouring) weighs 1 gram per ml. - Can it really be that simple?

I have yet to try this method. Just looking for consistency and less cleanup time. Hoping this makes things easier.

Are scales that much more easy to mix with?? I usually have to clean up 3 syringes and i'm good, usually just have a glass of water that I suck some up and push it out 4-5 times and then paper towel the inside/needle. Clean up is approx 45 seconds-1 minute.

Really it's just based off preference, put pg, vg, and nic in dispenser bottles, bigger bottles of flavorings come in dispensers as well and you have no clean up unless ya goof and miss ur container. Any flavors ya don't got in dispensers just use pipettes and chuck em
