Don't use iPhone app "eJuice Calc"!!!
submitted over 10 years ago by Thumper_357

I downloaded this app thinking it'd be easy to use (which it is) but theres a problem with the math. I was making a 120ml batch in a 125ml bottle and the closer i got to the end of mixing i realized "theres no way the rest is going to fit" and sure enough if I didn't stop adding VG it would've overflowed. After looking at the specs on the recipe and adding up the ml's the total for the batch was 126.7 ml's of liquid when the total i entered clearly stated 120ml's. Donueaste your time with this calculator because you'll have too much VG and not enough flavor or nic.

Send them a message. I'm sure they'll fix it. Of course it's kind of embarrassing on their part to not have written a test that would catch such an obvious error.

look like it's already been fixed, per /u/xnavyguy's comment. Regardless, I just do my own math with a google sheet. It's all set up to calculate automatically, and I know it works. This isn't rocket science-level math, people, it took me 5 minutes to configure the spreadsheet for my first-ever mix. I dunno why calculators are so crucial to many. Not that I'm impugning those who use them, I like the idea of it coming with a library of recipes and saving your work for you, but I just never have nor will use them.

Hey...we have to stop meeting like this....lol

I use a calculator but call me paranoid, before I started mixing with it, I checked the math to make sure everything was calculating correctly. I use one for the ease of saving everything for me and really like the features for when I tweak a recipe. I just hit copy recipe, add a number to the end of the name (indicating the revision #) then make the adjustment. I know I could do it without using the calculator but I like the look of the interface and don't worry as much as fat fingering my keyboard and putting something in the wrong cell.....lol

I'm secretly stalking your profile... ok, not really lol.

Yeah, I don't deny that the calcs have nice features and that's a good one for sure. I just love my 12-sheet google spreadsheet, categorized by recipe type, with a built in volume->weight->cost/batch calculator. It's custom-made so it fits my needs perfectly.

Also usually wise not to try to fill a bottle to the max if you want air space to shake shake shake and vape.

Very true I thought about that so i ended up transfering it to an 8oz bottle. Shook the shit out of it

Just looking at their app in the Apple store....seems they fixed the issue with ver 1.0.2 as of last week.

What's New in Version 1.0.2

Fixed issue where the VG amount was calculated incorrectly Fixed issue where you couldn't delete a recipe after editing it Changed text on the help screen

I actually checked out the app yesterday again and it seems the problem has been fixed. So this post was a bit pointless for the time being
