Working on a Looper clone, Recipe inside
submitted over 10 years ago by shrine399Mixologist

DISCLAIMER, NOT A FINAL RECIPE, ONLY SHOWING PROGRESS AND IDEAS

I've been a lurker for a couple weeks and a DIYer for quite a bit longer. After about a week my recipes were improving 10 fold from the information I've gained here. I figured it's time to give back a little bit.

This recipe is open to improvement and is most likely not finished but I think my last attempt made a huge leap towards completion. Feel free to add to the recipe, change it, whatever you want. I know there are many Looper (by ANML) fans out there and hopefully you will enjoy this recipe.

I used a few ideas from other recipes to get me to a UM-esque flavor, then was thinking it was tasting similar to Looper in some essence.

Without further due,

LOOPER CLONE ATTEMPT #69441324590

80/20 VG PG

Strawberry Ripe (TFA) 8%

Sweet Strawberry (CAP) 4%

Raspberry (Sweet) (TFA) 1% (Could possibly go without it, haven't tried)

Vanilla Custard (CAP) 3%

Orange Cream (TFA) 0.3%

Sweet Cream (TFA) 1%

Vanilla Swirl (TFA) 1%

Berry Crunch (TFA) 2%

Fruit Circles (TFA) 2%

Things I would like to try with this recipe but am unable to do because of missing extracts etc. : Try a touch of Acetyl P. , touch of dragonfruit, dropping Raspberry (will do this later, but i think it accents the strawberry (idea form pink panther recipe), Upping Berry crunch/Fruit Circles maybe 2-3% (BC) and 1% FC

Let me know what you guys think, I try to minimize use of diacetyl-like flavors (Sweet Cream/ Van Custard/ Fresh Cream)

I don't have FA Meringue but i think it would be a great addition at 1-2%

Happy DIY'ing!!

-Steve

EDIT:As I vape it, I think the Meringue will be delightful for that sugary milk aspect, as well us upping the BerCr and FrCir. anyway, enough with that let's see what you guys think

EDIT 2 : If anyone is still checking in on this, I've completely revised my recipe.

I decided to go back and try the tongue fuck recipe and noticed it had a lot more similarities to looper than I had initially noticed my first time making it. So here is my revision of tongue fuck and have got to say am honing in on Looper.

Things I don't have and still want to try : FA Meringue FW Yellow Cake Things I have now that I didn't have before : TFA Marshmallow, Bavarian Cream, AP

Tongue Fuck Revision

  • Fruit Circles (TFA) 8%
  • Berry Crunch (TFA) 4%
  • Fresh Cream (FA) 2%
  • Marshmallow, Bavarian Cream, Sweet Cream (all TFA) 1% each
  • Acetyl Pyrazine 5% solution (TFA) 0.5% 70vg/30pg

The Marshmallow and Bavarian cream toned down the intense Lemon that I experienced without them from the fruit circles. The original tongue fuck was too creamy for me so I halved the cream aspects, I wasn't tasting the cereal in the original and the Fresh Cream was starting to be overpowering at 3% I also upped the berry crunch because when I smell my Looper bottle I can tell it is more pronounced. This is definitely closer than my original. I definitely want to go back and try adding strawberry ripe to it because I swear i smell strawbery Ripe in Looper, at a very low % like 1-2%

Get FA Meringue right now! In my opinion, it gives the "frosted coating" taste that Fruit Loops have. One smell of the bottle, and that's immediately what I thought of, even before I saw the CK clone recipe.

Of the couple weeks I've been lurking, this seems to be the general consensus. Next order will contain it for sure ! :D

Sorry, I'm new to DIY in general, and this sub specifically, so don't hold it against me if I ask stupid questions... 1.) is AP Acetyl Propynol(or however it is spelled)? Hopefully it's not bc I'd like my juice without it if possible. 2.) what is TFA, FA, & Cap? Are those measurements like the full amount, fifth amount, and cap (sized amount)? Lol I dunno, just straight up guessing. Thanks. Btw, have you gotten any closer to nailing it since you posted this like five months ago? I love looper, but having to constantly have it in my rotation (along with muffin man) is seriously burning a whole in my pocket =\

AP is Acetyl Pyrazine, in this case; sorry for not being more specific.

The other questions are ones you can find answers to very easily by reading the sidebar, watching a couple videos, or searching. They're percentages. They're exactly as they sound: a percentage of your total mixture. Making 10mL's, 8% of a flavoring equals .8mL of that flavoring.

I'm not trying to be mean but DIY entails you do a bit of the research yourself. Teach a man to fish kinda thing...

And yes, I have gotten closer, but I prefer this recipe and similar variations over Looper at this point. Looper is overly flavored and too sweet for me now. If you want to try to clone it yourself I'll give you a head start and just say Fruit Circles, Berry Crunch, Vanilla Custard, Rice Crunchies, and Blueberry wild. All TFA except the Vanilla custard, which is Capella.

You can find the answer to your questions #2 by reading the side bar.

Oh, and Whipped Cream. :)

I wonder if it could be used to make a frosted flakes juice?

by NotCharlesMansonover 10 years ago

Hmm..I bet it could. I remember some flavor apparently tasting like corn chips after a certain percentage, but I don't remember what it was. Maybe something like:

Whatevermysterycornchipflavor

TFA Sweet Cream 2%

TFA Dairy 1%

FA Meringue 2%

FA Cream Fresh 1%

Maybe. I'd be interested in giving it a shot if I can find what the corn chip flavor was.

Acetyl Pyrazine

by jughandleover 10 years ago

Acetyl Pyrazine can have a frito-like flavor/aroma in high concentrations. And by high I mean like 1-2%, it's really strong stuff.

Get some FA cream flavors if you're wanting to avoid diacetyl. Fresh Cream, Catalan Cream, Custard etc... all diketone-free.

Love me some FA creams.

It's probably just a total coincidence. Don't get cocky, kid. =P

Haven't seen that one yet, the only one i've found is references to cereal killa clone, but just like others had said, Looper is NOT cereal killa. I'll have to try this one though forsure.

The only thing is i've tried multiple times with Fruit Circles at a percentage of 5-10% and it's ALWAYS too much fruit circles. It's just too much lemon. I like it at a 2-4% much better. Looper is definitely not 7% IMO, it is only accented by it, if anything it's a much higher percentage of berry crunch than anything. I Think the strawberry adds a necessary component to it though.

That's not a Looper clone, it's /u/tet5uo's Tonguefuck recipe without any attribution.

Heh I don't really mind. It's cool to see people enjoying it!

I also want to thank everybody for their contributions and comments! Let's make some Looper boys/gals!!!

Interesting work! To be totally honest the orange cream and the added fruits kind of threw me for a loop. When I vape Looper, I pretty much just taste Berry Crunch, Fruit Circles, and some kind of heavy cream. I'm probably wrong though, otherwise we'd have had a clone of it a long time ago.

I agree with everyone else, you'll definitely find a use for meringue here. Meringue+Berry Crunch+Fruit Circles is a pretty delicious vape and has all of the obvious notes that Looper has. All of those background notes are the hard part.

Good luck to you! I'll definitely give this recipe a try when I'm able.

When i made the recipe I shared above, I didn't think it was going to be similar to Looper. I was actually just trying to make a Strawberry Custard where the strawberry really popped, hence the obvious pulls from the pink panther recipe. What surprised me was, with a Looper bottle sitting next to me, the similarity I found in some of the background notes in the two juices. At first I thought it was just Looper left on my coils but after changing my cotton (dripper) i definitely tasted it. That was my reason for adding the berry crunch and fruit circles. I want to stress that i believe the strawberry is not correct at those levels. But there is definitely some combination of other fruits (which I DO believe to be strawberry) adding those background nuances into Looper. I only shared what I had made to hopefully see some other DIY'ers find the similarity and explore cloning Looper from a different angle, as I am attempting.

I love the idea of sharing my recipes, because this sub is the reason I've come up with them. Happy DIY'ing -Steve

I think the key here will be the balancing of the strawberries with the meringue and fruit circle/berry crunch to get that sugary cereal inhale and fresh fruity exhale that is so pleasantly apparent in Looper. If only the creator were a redditor, i'd give him the biggest e-hug i could for making such an amazing tasting juice, while apologizing for not wanting to pay $22/30mL for it :D

Is it tough for you to spend 23 bucks on a 30ml and almost cloning it for 30 cents? Honest question!

2 points

by shrine399over 10 years ago

I'm not sure I understand the question. If you're asking if it's worth it to try and clone it, yes? Is it too much to spend $23/30ml, yes?

I really don't know what you mean sorry.

I love the juice and have every bit of utmost respect for the man behind it and his ability to make it. But, I vape 15mL+ of juie per day, and while I can get the juice cheaper than retail, I prefer to make my own juice for practically free. If i can make something that tastes similar, then more power to me.

Any updates on this, /u/shrine399?

2 points

by shrine399over 10 years ago

I updated it with the "Tongue Fuck Revision" which was my best baseline for changes I made to it after. MY favorite version I made was this, which is close but not perfect:

Fruit Circles TFA 5%

Meringue FA 2%

Berry Crunch TFA 4%

Bavarian Cream TFA 2%

Yellow Cake FA 2%

Marshmallow TFA 1%

Acetyl Pyrazine 0.75%

Lately I've been forgoing the yellow cake because after a day of vaping it out of my tank, it stains my front teeth :P I'm actually going to be experimenting with this again tonight,.

OP delivers! Thanks! I'll have to get some Fa meringue. Stains your teeth?? That's concerning.. Lol.

What does the acetyl pyrazine do in terms of flavor?

1 points

by shrine399over 10 years ago

AP adds that bready/nutty nuance. I believe berry crunch has some in it, but not enough (imo) to forgoe it completely. For me, it's necessary to get that sweet crunchy breadyness that is cereal. at high percentages it tastes like corn chips so don't over do it :P

As for the teeth staining, I use a tank at high wattage (60W .6ohm), and was vaping this all day for a few days and noticed a slight brown tint on my two front teeth in a circular shape. I attributed it to the placement of the tip when I vaped. It came off once I brushed my teeth, but it's annoying nonetheless.

Hi... New guy here.. (Dane so bere with me :)

I recently tried looper for the first time and instantly, love was in the air. So i wanted to join the clone wagon. Im kinda new to diy but got the ingredients for the Toungue fuck version and made the recipe excactly as described and while it it has similarities, its not close either. Now while i've been vaping the TF version all day, i understand why one would think that the fruit loops aroma is the key ingredient in this juice, but i've been thinking.. What if Rocke didnt use this aroma but instead made his own with all the original flavours like lemon, orange strawberry etc..? I smell and taste fruit loops but don't think the that part of it tastes just the same as the anml looper.. Im gonna try to mix a revised version of the TF later tonight but still with the same ingredients to see if i can get a more pronounced taste from it..

Anyway, that was my 2 cents on this and im hoping you guys are still on the case of recreating this juice as it is pretty expenssive to import to Denmark :-/

I never thought fruit circles was in it. If it is, it's <1%. I don't know why so many people think it's the main note. Glad to know someone else thinks the same.

Any suggestions for substituting FA Fresh Cream?

2 points

by shrine399over 10 years agoMixologist

That's a tough one. Never found anything quite like it to be honest. Maybe someone else will have something they found to be closest, but personally, I haven't.

Fair enough, thank you for your input /u/shrine399! I guess I'll just have to grab some on my second order... I was going to do a bulk order of FA/TFA/CAP from Bullcity and then saw they don't even sell nic, so I ended up grabbing some stuff from WizardLabs instead :/

Someone needs to bully Bullcity into carrying nic and they'd be the only place I'd shop ever
