the problem is most likely mobile users, as the sidebar isn't exactly one of the first things you see.

edit: and am I confused? Is this about table flipping because nobody reads the side bar, or because everyone just tells you to read the sidebar when you ask questions?

I always go back to reading the side bar, and then as a second method use the search engine.

I'd putting something very specific there such as "Starter kits" or "Flavor suggestions for first order" as I see those questions come in a lot.

Yeah, but its a good policy. I wish reddit followed the old-school forum etiquette more: "Search first Noob" and "Do not post before reading the rules/faq" were nice. I can do without "bump posts" and "tits or gtfo" of course...

If you want recipes try the monthly recipe stickies or the clone thread stickie. Which btw is located on the sidebar ;) lol. Not everyone is a "read the sidebar" person. I was turned off of this subreddit about a 6 months or more ago because I was slammed with the "sidebar" answer myself, but then I got into DIY myself and find this subreddit fairly usefull sometimes. I try to help anyone if I can.
