here is my first post Link
after waiting friday and monday for an email or call to give them the benefit of the doubt I called them today, Alex, said my nic was a specialty product and I guess that means it can be old and garbage, they stand by the nic they send, said no refunds and while I was mid sentence hung up the phone on me, looks like I did get burned, I will be making a complaint with health canada and doing a paypal charge back and go from that point...Sucks really sucks.
Edit-will not be doing complaint to HC.
edit#2
I put in the paypal dispute and they called me back, much more receptive to working this out now, they want me to take down the paypal dispute and send the nic back, they claim people buy nic or make bad nic and try to pass it off as some one elses for replacement I can see where they are coming from but still feel it should never have gotten to this point at all, I have no problem sending it back and only wanted replacement in the first place.
edit#3
I closed the dispute under regular circumstances I would not have ended the dispute because you can't re-open it, however after talking with the vendor I agree with him that this is not a good thing for the vape industry in canada in general and its already hard enough to get nic base in canada so I took him as a man of his word that he would replace the base.
he seemed quite mad at me to the point that he said he was just going to shut the whole thing down because of the paypal dispute and that I was to descriptive when writing the complaint, and that a lot of other people will suffer if he shuts down because its already so hard to get nic in canada I feel kinda bad, I just wanted a quality product...
Oh god don't complain to HC. They'll just add this to their pile of "why vaping should be banned" reasons and we're all screwed.
Agreed.
People who run to big government deserve all of the restrictions they get.
Backcharge with Paypal and never buy from there again.
Just so you know, in North America Paypal does not allow vaping, tobacco or nicotine products to be sold using their service. Your dispute would have been an instant win because of this. Their usual response is to cancel the transaction, which refunds the money. Repeatedly doing this risks both the buyer and seller accounts being suspended or terminated. It's best to avoid it, even though it's convenient.
There is NO reputable vendor for nicotine in Canada that accepts PayPal through their site and doesn't get shut down in a matter of days.
There's a very good chance the vendor knew all of this and wanted you to stop the dispute so he could go on breaking PayPal policies.
With the margins they make pushing their low quality nicotine, you'd think they could afford to cover these types of losses. Yeah you'll get scumbag customers who try to take advantage, but you also have to give customers the benefit of the doubt the first time around. It's part of the cost of doing business.
I'll stick to buying nic from the states. Even with our shitty dollar, it's still much cheaper and I get a higher quality product. It just takes a few days longer to get here but I can live with that.
Can you elaborate in what makes their nicotine shitty? I have some and it seems fine.
Genuinely curious, not flaming.
It was brown, had a strong rubbery odour and tasted extremely harsh. It also affected the flavour of my finished product. Recipes that I normally ADV were borderline unvapeable with the nicotine I received from them.
I'm not saying that you'll have the same experience. Plenty of people are happy with their nicotine.
who do you use from the states? have you had many issues at the border?
If I'm having it delivered at home, I order from ECX. Otherwise, I order from VapersTek and I go pick it up across the border. I only live about an hour away from the US border. I also pick up some groceries while I'm there so I have something to tell the border officer.
ECX ships discreetly to Canada and I've never once had issues with customs in the 2 years I've been ordering.
Thanks for the heads up; mine is especially peppery and very harsh. I think I'll go back to store-bought juice for a while as I can't really afford to wait for new stuff from NorthernNic.
I have seen a few Canadians here saying that they don't have good nic sources - PM me how much of what type of nic you want and maybe I can help.
Yeah, I've just started getting into ÐIY and I can't seem to find a Nic supplier in Canada. It sucks vaping at 0mg, but meh.
Well that sucks... I've been told they had really good nic. Nic is the only reason why I haven't started to DIY
That shouldn't discourage you from at least trying DIY.
When I first started I didn't care about getting the best nic. Even now, as long as my nic is clear and near odourless, I'm fine with it. Using "average" nicotine, you can still make very tasty juice. Also the lower the concentration in your mixes, the less of a factor your nicotine becomes.
Where do you get your nicotine?
I've had good luck with east coast vape, canvape, allecigsolutions and heard good things about northern nic however recently they've been out of stock, I suspect because some people said their last batches were too peppery. If they're still around, avoid nic-r-us.
The litre of 48mg/ml I got from him in October last year was only slightly yellowed, and the taste was still fine up to 18mg, so it seems there is some consistency problems there for sure.
I'm almost out of that litre now too, so I'll have to check out some US suppliers of nic.
Careful with that. God damn customs stole a 200$ order from me.
Yeah, I think that's why it's so expensive to buy it up here.
We're paying for the extra cost of lost shipments.
I wouldn't mind taking that risk myself if it means i'll finally get some nice clean nic.
I can testify to Fusion Flavours awful customer service.
The owner literally told me to go fuck myself and basically said he was going to steal my money and ship me nothing because I asked for a refund after being dicked around for weeks.
I ended up having to dispute the payment through paypal.
I've also read horror stories of people receiving bottles with crap floating around in it from there so I'm glad I ended up canceling my order.
I ended up ordering nicotine from Hydavape and that guy actually offered to deliver it personally while he was in my area, completely the opposite experience.
