I'm confused,

what is the cellophane looking stuff around the top?

What is that at the bottom of the container? Glue? Hot glue? Juice? Jizz?

Does this basically just spin the whole container? If so, How does that help to mix?

Does the container stay still and the fan drives a magnetic bar in the container? If so, why the cap?

Why edit out the surroundings? Was this photo taken in your secret lair? Is there incriminating evidence around? Why the nyan cat theme?

So many questions...

its a small canister container hot glued to the fan. I wrap a small piece of bubble wrap around the juice bottle so it doesn't rattle.

OK, so it just spins the bottle.

Wouldn't this be more of a centrifuge than a mixer?

Edit: There's still the question of the secret lair.

What i used to use Imgur Imgur

What I use now Imgur

Add some magnets to the fan set it up so there is a surface to set a beaker and and the throw a magnetic stir bar in the beaker and juice....and then you are mixing

By the way this stir box is for sale

yes good idea, what do you suggest the stir bar or the star? I'm guessing star adds more air so the bar would be better.

The star is a bit more stable. I would use the star considering if you build your own you probably won't be getting everything centered perfectly. It could be any symmetrical shape really, it doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter if you are "adding more air" or cavitating the liquid.

As long as some parts of the liquid are moving faster in a different direction than another part of the liquid then it is being stirred.

In order to stop the centrifuge, maybe have the bottle on its side?

I think it will still just spin and mix slightly.

That's pretty cool. What size fan is that? Did you splice it onto a usb plug or off the system board?

Nice, so a stronger magnet is needed a more powerful fan?

by johnny_yumaover 10 years ago

probably both are needed and a heated plate to keep high vg mixes thinned out. the best I've been able to do is 60% VG
