so I have made a couple mixes a couple days ago but they have no flavor. When I try them on my dripper I can tell it tastes different than flavorless but I am getting no flavor, just sweet air. I am still very new so I dont know what Im doing wrong. These are all tfa flavors except vanilla custard v2 by capella. All at 50/50 0mg 10ml testers.
-
pear 6.5%
strawberry 4%
honeydew 4%
No flavor with the FAINTEST taste of honeydew on the exhale. -
Strawberry at 7% No flavor at all
-
capella vanilla custard v2 10%
Slight chemical taste, no flavor, with sweet exhale.
try some quick steeping to try and get some flavors to meld. I took a small tupperware filled it with rice, heated in microwave and buried a bottle in the rice until it was cooled and it brought out a good amount of flavor for me..
give it a shot and good luck!
I hate to ask but you are sure you are doing 6% and not 0.6% right?
Meaning, your bottles have about 1ml or so of flavor in them?
yes i am sure I measured correctly. for example I put 1ml flavor for the 10ml tester for capellas vanilla custard. Im confused because I read the comments for the first recipe & some commenters said it was a shake & vape recipe. I am not sure what I am doing wrong.
"a couple days ago"
You need age. Especially the custard. Custards and vanillas need 3-4 weeks before they're rich and flavorful. You can maybe speed this up a bit with heat methods but nothing beats a 4+ week old custard. I do Capella VC at 15% and age at least 3 weeks. I don't do much fruit flavors but those and tobaccos are good to vape after a week or so.
hmm, how can you tell when a juice needs more flavor vs more steep time? For example my 1st recipe, I cant taste anything now, should I add more flavor or steep & see if the flavor comes through? How do you make this judgement?
That's the tricky part. :) If it's a fruit flavor and it's weak after 1-2 weeks then likely it needs to be stronger or it's a flavor that's just weak. I tried TFA Blueberry Extra and couldn't get anything out of it up to 25% but sweet air after 6 weeks. I recently tried Capella Glazed Donut. It had a nice flavor after 2 weeks. After 4 weeks it's knocking my ass off tasty. Me, and this is just how I do it, I don't vape a damned thing until it's 4 weeks old. This way I know, the flavors have mostly settled and if it's weak, it needs more. Too strong, it needs less. Or the flavor sucks. I don't expect you to have the same level of patience but age is extremely important.
0 nic and low wattage? My experience with that has always been disappointing flavor with both retail and my own DIY juices.
I personally use 1mg in my mixes to be satisfied with the flavor. Any less and I taste near nothing.
How many watts should I pump with an 0.5 single coil to get good flavor?
I have an ipv mini 2 that goes to 70 watts.
Please and thank you
I run a UD Goblin RTA with .5 ohms at 35 Watts (Comes out to about 4.2volt). Using a Sigelei 100+. Also run a Billow RTA at some ohms with same watts. I also try to keep atleast 30% of my total juice as PG (30pg/70vg). Some flavors I run 40pg.
I got a somewhat vital question for you. What are you vapeing on? I use tfa at 10% but im vapeing on a .02 ohm coil at 150 watts. So i get great flavor but thats only because im getting a lot of clouds. My guess is if your vapeing on an ego style ecig you probably want to bring your flavoring to 20% if you want yo get any flavor out of it .
Sorry i meant a .2 ohm coil. .02 would be pretty radical.
