"Finally", I thought, "some scientific perspective on aging / curing - and let's hope they debunk the term steeping."
Two minutes later, and I got nothing that I'd hoped for.
As a scientist, I do dislike the use of the term "steeping" when talking about e-liquid. It's technically incorrect, as it doesn't involve extracting anything from a solid. I wrote my portion of the article to get some science info out there, while trying to avoid starting any sort of flame wars with other members of the community. I also tried to have the content be accessible to everyone, even those without a scientific background. If someone has experience in organic chemistry, there's a lot more that can be discussed about mixing e-liquid!
This is great and I've been curious what's going on in the background. Thanks for that, it was well written but for the love of zombie Jesus please don't call it steeping. It's like a doctor calling a cardiac arrest 'pumper failure'.
How do you like "curing"? I tried to make it a thing, but no one else liked the term. Seems the most accurate, since "aging" is only the method to arrive at a cured liquid state.
Isn't that every article/post about steeping that has ever existed though? Every single time its like "LETS SEE IF WE CAN SPEED STEEP THIS SHIT" and ends with "yeah I guess we can? I dunno". I just gave up and started letting my juice sit for weeks at a time.
Holy fuck. Stop using steeping
Yeah, lets not use the word 95% of the vaping community uses and use one if 5 or 6 other words that may be technically correct and do nothing but confuse people new to vaping for no really good reason since in the end no matter what we call it, it is the same procedures.
