All of the Capella flavors with v2 at the end are the diketone free version of the v1 that contained some form of diketone. I believe that TFA uses the Dx prefix for their diketone free versions. So CAP Vanilla Custard v2 and TFA Dx Banana Creme would be two instances of how that'd be used.

Assume it's the diketone free version -- butyric acid instead of diketones.

No, diketones taste good. As for whether or not they can impact your health in any meaningful way is debatable. If you don't wanna worry about it then get v2 although the flavor might suffer

I've found flavors with the diketones removed lack that rounded creamy flavor. I can't really explain it into words but there is a little bit of a flavor difference. The Banana Creme and Dx Banana Creme, for example, really show this contrast.

V2 removes diacetyl I believe

Not exactly diacetyl but diketones that have the ability to produce trace amounts of diacetyl when heated

Thank you for clarifying, someone before told me that it was diacetyl.
