Ethyl Maltol Question

Trying to buy a sweetener for my e liquids, and need some help. I heard Ethyl Maltol is good, but I'm curious as to where I can get it locally without ordering online, since I just dropped a ton of money on my equipment, and I don't really want to have to wait for shipping. Or is there any other sweetner I can buy to add to my e liquids? I've been steeping them, they smell sweet, but they arent.

I've used liquid stevia. I'm not really a fan of sweetner, but it works really well. It can be a pain to find, but of the 7 grocery stores within 2 miles of my house, only one carries it in liquid form.

I believe you can use granulated Stevia dissolved into PG or VG. You may have to look up which particular brand/type of granulated Stevia to use specifically, as I haven't tried it myself and I think there are versions that have extra additives that you don't want. From what I remember about it, it doesn't cause your flavoring to dull down like EM can do.

Hell, you might be able to find it at Whole Foods or Sur le table... I'd check those places out first or see if there's any shops that cater to candy-makers.

Ethyl Maltol gives the perception of sweetness but doesnt actually sweeten the juice that much; if that makes any sense. Too much EM will mute flavors though.

That's exactly what I need. I just need the perception of sweetness. Ex: cherry and lime - to make a Shirley Temple flavor.

The great thing about health food stores is you can go in and ask for absolutely pure stevia powder with no preservatives, and they don't ask any questions. They just assume they missed a Men's Health article.
