Would it taste alright to use French Vanilla as a standalone?
Only one way to find out.
I mixed at 7% 70/30 and it is okay.
I actually just mixed a bottle at 7%, I'm waiting while it sits in warm water for a bit to try it
I like it quite a bit (better than regular vanilla), but it can be strong (especially after a week or so), so take it easy with the percentages at first. It's one of my favorite "standalone" flavors though , so I just do it at about 8% French Vanilla and 10% EM (I don't really count Ethyl Maltol as a flavor, per say). If I'm making a small batch to vape right away and I know it'll be gone in a couple days, I'll crank the FV up to about 10%. I like really intense flavors though, so it would be a good idea for you to start low ;).
EDIT: it can also be nice with a hint of TFA Marshmallow, kind of rounds it out I find. If I add marshmallow, I'll take the same amount of EM out of the recipe because marshmallow is a bit sweet. For instance, if I add 4% marshmallow, I'll lower the EM by 4%.
I enjoy half bavarian cream, half french vanilla more. Both TFA. But I'm a creamy guy hahah
Let sit for a week and be in heaven. Another Redditor told me this and it's a surprisingly good, simple custard! Nothing like CAP vanilla custard, but good in it's own right!
