TFA Honey
submitted over 10 years ago by Orwelian84Pâtissier

So I just whipped up a batch of what I was hoping would be strawberry cheesecake with a honey graham cracker crust. All flavors TFA

Cheesecake 6%

Honey 1%

Graham Cracker(Clear) 4%

Strawberry 2%

Toasted Marshmallow 2%

I've done a couple of Cheesecake blends before in roughly these proportions and it worked fine, this was the first with honey, and DAMN is the Honey flavor strong. Even at 1% it's all I can taste.

I'm gonna let it steep a week and try it again, in the past Cheesecake flavors have taken a while to really mature and that's what I am hoping will happen here.

But word to the wise, if you you use TFA honey go really lite, like less than 1% lite.

As an aside TFA Honey has an excellent flavor, strong floral notes, has a clover nose and a tip of the tongue honey taste. I look forward to further experimentation.

I don't remember where I read it, or if it was TFA Honey, or FA Honey, but it was reccomended to make a 10% solution of the flavor itself, and then use that at low percentages.

I do that with FA honey, and even using 0.25% of that dilution can overpower

Yeah FA Honey at a 10% solution rocks. It's sweet and if you go over 1% with the diluted honey you will get a noticeable honey flavor. Below that it can be used as a good sweetener for bakery vapes. I use it in alot of my juices.

I will have to try this. As it stands I made another mix up with .5% in a smoothie mix and it worked quite nicely. Still a little strong, but the Papaya and Mango are strong enough to cover it.

If you want honey flavors, try tfa honeysuckle. It's waaaay more subtle.

I shall, I think I will have to either try the diluted suggestions or this for my honeygraham crust.

I've never personally tried TFA honey, but I've heard it can be hard to work with. What I have tried is TFA black honey, which seems relatively easy to work with.

Yea, I have that one too and it is MUCH milder.

This particular one just tastes like honey. The only mix i've had that I would say was that bad was one with rainbow drops. Was the first thing I ever mixed, mixed the rainbow drops at like 10% with 7% strawberry. Thought I was going to die.

Is that cheesecake or cheesecake with graham crust? Regular TFA cheesecake is absurdly strong and pungent with a subtle fromunda cheese smell/taste.

I'll 3rd the recommendation for dilution with TFA honey.

Just regular cheesecake. I found I didn't really taste the cheese at all from the w/graham crust flavor.

I really like this straight TFA Cheesecake. I did it with some Brown sugar, BC, Strawberry, and Caramel(all TFA) . After sitting for a week it was fantastic.
