Andromeda Clone Revisited
submitted over 10 years ago by VapeMD

After modifying the flavoring to /u/drjonsey365's suggested levels:

  • 50/50

  • 5% Vanillin

  • 10% Blueberry Extra

  • 3% Pomegranate

  • 5 drops of lorann tart and sour, didn't have this.

I'm still barely tasting blueberry, now I don't know if it's the flavor or what but I feel like it needs to be pumped up. I've tried FW Blueberry, TFA Blueberry, and TFA Blueberry Extra. None have produced a satisfying blueberry taste. Is there something stronger or more pronounced out there? All I'm asking for is a blueberry kick to the teeth like the Koolaid man busting my lights out. Any other brands that could kick it up a notch without being at 10-15%+?

Beginning to think original Andromeda must not have been that great lol.

Have you tried TFA blueberry (wild)? I've always found it to be plenty strong in mixes that use it

I second TFA Blueberry (wild), also LorAnn's Tart and Sour always seemed to dull flavor after a little while

blueberry wild is delicious, tart and sour works great, if you vape the entire bottle straight away. if you plan on letting it steep/sit and/or dont vape a shit ton, then just use citric acid.

Man, I'm right there with you. I am an absolute blueberry fiend, and I think I have ruined my taste buds because I vape it so much. When I started mixing my own, I could not taste the blueberry to save my life. Still can't, unless I don't have any for about 5 days. That truly sucks ballz.

I use the TFA blueberry wild, and have 2 others coming from FW today, but have not tried the citric acid and other tips. May have to give it a whirl later today.

Like others have said something acidic should help, but I highly recommend FA Bilberry if you're looking for an in your face blueberry flavor. I never use it above 3% and it's plenty strong.

TFA Acai @ 3-5%

Instead of Tart and Sour, maybe try just Citric Acid (EDIT: at about 1%)? I have all of those flavors and will make a batch up sometime this week.

Maybe FA Bilberry? I haven't tried it yet, but it smells very strong and FA usually does it right.

I just replied to the thread from the other day, but I don't have a problem with the blueberry taste personally. I felt it was lacking on the pomegranate end and a bit high on the vanillin.

I was mixing by weight, and out of laziness, just calling flavors 1g/ml which is slightly low. I looked up the MSDS for specific gravity and will have another go at it.

I am waiting for bulk of these flavors to come in since I only had some samples to see if it was even close, so hopefully by the weekend I'll have another go.

I do have FA Brillberry, but it isn't really a blueberry like you think of blueberry. It's a bit more tart and wildish tasting.

The one thing I did notice about real Andromeda or clone, is that I burn out on it quickly. Tastes great in the morning, but by the time I get home from work, I'm pretty dulled to it and end up vaping something else.

Try using tart and sour from lorann's. One drop per 2-5ml/should bounce the flavor right up

Also try ACV or anything acidic -- some fruity flavors are masked by a high pH of the eliquid. A drop of lemon juice or malic acid can help, too.

I have pure citric, might try that next.

1/4 teaspoon in PG, hot water bath to mix. Add 1 drop of that to 10ml of juice.

Acidity really fixes so many issues.

Tart and Sour has both Citric and Malic acid in it and should help at 1 drop per 5ml. The GF vapes the original recipe version of this calling for 8% Blueberry Extra, and I have found that the Vanillin tends to mask the Blueberry a bit until it has had a few days to steep. This should not take more than a week though. Because of this you may want to reduce the Vanillin back to the orignal 4% as well. If you really want a kick in the teeth Blueberry flavor, you want FA Bilberry. Try it at 3% but I would not exceed 4% as it is some VERY potent stuff.

Thanks for the suggestion, will keep this in mind.

He has also suggested that; citric should work similarly?
